MINUTES OF 'I'H!-: REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CI'IT COUNCIL
HELD AT TK~ CITY HALL, FRIDAY, XXXXXKX JTmE 21, 1940, 7:30 P.M.
Fr. TLIJ.Tassiter being the only Councilzmn present, the
meeting was ad.iourned until Monday, .TunG 24th, 1940, 7:30 P.~,:.
A number of _~Clermont Citizens were pr8sent, and at 8:20 P.l".
Mayor H.C.Brown called the meeting to order, and the fomlowing
were present: Zoning Commission members, Irving ~. Morse and
G.J.Egan; City Harsn--A,l1- R.S.Cleaver, City Clerk, R.p.House, and
the following Citizens; Wm Kern, J.H.IJeBlanc, Oakley Seaver,
and Stella Thompson.
Fr. Brown asked if there were any complaints, criticisms
or suggestions on the prpposed Zoning Ordinance. A fow
questions were asked, and suggestions as to change' in the
wording in two or th~ee sections to clarify the meaning, after
which the meeting was adjourned.

The meeting was called to order by President O.H.Keene,
other Councilmen present being Mr. F. B. Roe and Mr. R. M.
Stackhouse. Mayor H.C.~rown, City Clerk R.?Rouse, and
Irving Morse, representing the Zoning Commission, were also
present.

Mr. Stackhouse then moved the adoption or the ordinance
entitled"AN OHDINANCE TO REGULATE AND RESTRICT THE HEIGHT,
NUMBER OF S 'TORIES, AND SIZE OF BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES;
TO REGULATE THE SIZE! J?EPTH AND VVIDTH OF YARDS, COURTS AND OTHER
OPEN SPACES; TO REGULATE THE PERCENTAHEOF LOT THAT MAY BE
OCCUPIED AND REGULATE THE D}1~SITY OF POPULATION; TO REGULATE
AND RESTRICT THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINS, STRUCTURES, LAND

which was carried unanimously. Mr. Stackhousg then moved
that the rules be waived, and that the Ordinance be read the
second time by its title only, which was seconded by Mr. Roe
. and carried. Mr. Stackhouse then "l1oved that the rules be
further waived and that the Ordinance be read the third time,
an0placed upon its passage, which motion was unanimously
adopted. Thereupon the Ordinance was read in full and on the
passage of the same, the roll was called and the following vote
taken: Ayes- Councilmen Keene, Roe, Stackhouse. Noes- none.
Absent- Councilmen Johnson, Lassiter.
So the Ordinance passed, title as stated, and was ordered
recorded in the Book of Ordinances, and numbered Ordinance
No. 48. A copy of the Ordinance appears in full in this book,
following the minutes of this meeting.
The being no further business, the Council adjourned, to
meet at the call of the President.
