rmUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT
THE CITY HALL TUESDAY, JUNE 4, 1940, 7:40 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by president O.R.Keene,
other Councilman present being A.M.Johnson, R.L.Lassiter, and
R. M. Stackhouse. Mayor R.C.Brm~, Marshall R.S.C1eaver,
City Attorney &eo. F. Westbrook, Street and Water Superintendent
R.F.Anderson, and City Clerk R.F.Houme were also present.
\ Minutes of the meeting May 7th were read and approved.
Four members of the Zoning Commis&ion,~ Mr. S.H.Bowman,
Mr. C.W.Brooma11, Mr Ernest Denslow, and Mr. Irving F. Morse
were present, an~ Mr. Denslow delivered to Mayor Brown a copy
of the proposed Zoning,Ordinance, as drafted by the Commission.
Mr. Brown extended thanks of the City Officials for the work
done by the Commission. City Attorney Westbrook gave his
opinion that the proposed Oddinance complied with the Suatutes
of the Suute: of Florida, and the proceedings leading up to the-
introduction of the Ordinance have been in accordance with law.
Mr. Stackhouse then introduced the Ordinance for the
consideration of the Council.
Mr. Lassiter made a motion, seconded b~ Mr. Stackhouse
that the proposed ordinance be published in the Clermont Press:,
,and that a notice of a public hearing before the City Council
at a meeting to be held at 'the City Hall, Friday, June 21, 1940
at 7:30'P.M., be published. When put to a vote, the motion
carried.
Mr. Westbrook stated that the bond refunding program
was progressing as fast as possible.
Mayor Brown's report was read and accepted.
Marshall Cleaver's report was read and accepted.
Mr. Johnson made a motion that the salary of st. Supt
R.F.Anderson be raisedoto $100.00 per month, and that the
Salary of H.M.Co1e be raised to $15.00 per week. The motion
was seconded by Mr. lassiter, and when put to a vote, the
motion carried'.

Mr. Johnson made a motin, seconded by Mr. Lassiter, which
carried, that the following bills be approved and paid when
money is available:
