04-02-1940 Regular Meeting
MllffiTES OF THE REGULAR NEETING OF THE CITY COlmCIL HELD
AT THE CITY HALL~CLERMONT, FLORIDA, TUESDAY~APRIL 2, 1940.
The meeting was called to order by president O.H.Keene
at 7:40 P.M. Other Councilmen present were F. B. Roo and
R.L.I.assiter. Mayor H.C.Brown, City Attorney Geo. TI'. West-
brook, MRrshal1 H.S.Cleaver, City Clerk R.F.House, and Street
and Water Superintendent R. TI'. Anderson were also present.
Minutes of the meetings March 5th and March 21st were
read and approved.
Mayor Brown read his report, in which he stated that tho
l'!PA project to resurface streets damaged by. the freeze in
January was awaiting agtion by the District offi ce in Orlando.
The Zoning ordinance is nearly ready for actmon by the Council.
Re said that practically all licenses had been paid.

Marshall Cleaver's report was read and approved.
Street Supt. Anderson asked for instructions to take
care of some street and water problems. Mr. Roe made a motion
that a dip be cut across Chestnut Street immediately East of
Fifth Street, so that surface water could drain off of Fifth St.
The motion was seconded by Hr. Lassiter, and when put to a
vote, the motion carried.
r.~r. ROG made a motion that Mr. Rorabaugh be paid C15.00
for the manure hauldd from his place and used in the Cemetery.
The motion was seconded by Mr. LasSiter, andcarried.
Mr. Roe made a motion, seconded by Mr. Lassiter, and
carried, that the following bills be approve~, and paid' when
money is available:

~.~r. Roe made a motion, seconded by Mr. Lassiter, and
carried, that the City Clerk accept taxes during April
without penalty, 1 % penalty per month to be added, beginning
May 1st.

I\'Ir. 1'/estbrook asked the Council to meet Next Tuesd'ay,
2 P.M. for discussion of important matter~ regarding taxes
and Paving.
There being no fmrther business at this time, the
Council adjourned, to meet at the call of the president.
