}UNUTES OF S~SCIAL MEETING OF THE CI1I'Y COUNCIL, HELD AT THE CITY
HALL TUE['.DAY, JULY 25, 1939, 7;30 P.M.
The Meeting was called to order by president O.H.Keene,oth~er
Councilmen present being R.L.Lassiter, F.B.Roe, and R.M.
Stackhouse. Mayor Brown, City Attorne,r Westbrook, and City
Clerk, R.F.House were also present.
Mr. Stackhouse introduced the following Resolution:

"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A PETIIDION IN
THE DISTRICT COURT OF THE UNITED STATES, FOR THE
SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA, FOR THE: CmIPOSITION
OF THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT.
"Whe reas, the City of C1e I'Dlont has heretofore adopted
a detailed plan for the composition of its bonded indebtedness,
and has submitted the same to its creditors affected th3 reby
for the pur~ose of securing the consent of its ~vx~txM~KX~
said creditors to the filing of proceedings in the United
States District Court, for the Southern District of Florida,
under the National Bankruptcy Act, as amended, as the same
applies to Municipal Corporations, to the end of effectuating
and perfecting a plan of composition; and
"WHEREAS, creditors of said City affected by said plan
owning more than fifty-one per centum (5l~) in amount of
each class of securities affected by the plan have accepted
in writing said plan of composition; and
"W-rlEREAS, it is for the best interests of said City and
its creditors that said plan be finally approved and put into
force and effect; and
"WHEREAS, there has been presented to and considered
by this City Council the petition of said City of Clermont
to be filed in the said United States District Court for
the commencement of said proceedings in said Court:
"NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Clermont, Florida, that said City commence said
proceedings in said Bankruptcy Court in accordance with the
provisions of said detailed plan.of composition of its debts,
and in accordance with the'provisions of said Bankruptcy Act
as ammended, and IX pursuant to the. authority vested in said
City by Chapter 15878 of the Laws of Florida of 1933; oand
that the Mayor and the City Clerk of said City be and they are
hereby a11Lthorized ani directed to sign and 'seal said petition,
and the s aid Mayor to verify the same for JOlK and on behalf'
of th said City, and that said petition thereupon be forth-
with filed in the said United States' District Court for the
Southern District of Florida by tb9 City'S Counsel.

Upon being read in full, it was moved and seconded that
the Resolution be adopted, and on roll call the vote was as
follows:
Ayes- Keene, Lassiter, R~, Stackhouse
Noes- none
Absent- A.M.Johnson
Not voting- I.M.Johnson
A quorum of tho.) Council was present, and all Councilmen
present voted. A copy of the resolution was signed by
the preSident of the City Council, attested by the City Clerk
and signed by the Mayer for filing with the petition of
Bankruptcy.
Mr. Lassiter made a motion that $200.00 be sent to Mr.
Henry L. Jol1ay with the papers for filing the petlb40n of
Bankruptcy. The motion was seconded by Mr. Roe, and when
put to a vote, the motion carried.
Ther being no furthar business, the eouncil adjourned,
to meet at the call of the president.
