06-06-1939 Regular Meeting CITY OF CLERMONT rUNUTES OF THE REGUT,AR MBETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT TEE CITY HALLs> TUE" DAY, JUNE 6, 1939, '7: 45 P oM. The meeting was called to order by President O.H. Keene, other Councilmsnpresent being F.B.Roe, R.M.Stackhouse rod A.M.Johnsono Mayor Brown, Marshall Cmeaver, and Street Supt. R.F.Anderson were also ~esent. -~ ~ lUnutes of the last regular meeting ~,r:ay 2nd were read and approved. Mayor Brown read his report with recommendations for action by tm Council. He also stated that l~r" Percival would donate tm lot ea st of thoseon rvhich the City Ha 11 stands, for use b). the \'\Telfa re League for a First Aid Stat ion. Mr. Roe made a moti on that the Ci ty Attorney prepare deeds for the exchange of the park pro~ty on Minnehaha Lake at tm south end of Twelfth Street for the property along the shore of Leke Minna ola west of the Clermon t C1 trus Growers Exchange paclc1ng house now owns d by To and Nels on Takahashi. The motion WaS seconded by Mr. Stackhouse, and when put to a vote, the motion carried. 1~r. Stackhouse made a motion that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up an Ordinance, amending an Ordinance passed December 17th, 1924 which reduced the width of Highland Ave. uuenty feet, adding that amount to 'the property along the southern ed~ of Highland Ave; so that the addi tonal twenty feet would be divided, ten feet to the owners of property along the southe rn edge of Highland Ave. and te n fe et to the owners of the property along the northern edge of Chestnut St., in all blocks between Seventh Street and Second Street. The motion was seconded by r,1r. Roe, and when put to a vote, the motion carried. ';1 . Mr" Roe ~ de a motbn, seconded by r:rr. StB- ckhouse, which carried, that too City donate $10.00 to the Clermont Ball Club. r,F,r" Roe made a moti on, seconded by Mr. Sm ckhouse, and carriedp that th,1 Mayor write a letter to the Florida Public Service Co, asking them to remove moss from their wires, and also to put a notice in the Clermont Press, askins property owners to remove moss from their trees. ~ ~ r~r. Roetthen introduced the following Ordinance: "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING LINDEN S'rREET BETWEEN EIGHTH STREET AND SEVENTH STREET AND ALSO CLOSING AND VAVATING THE ALLEY BETWEEN LOT '7 AND LOTS 1, 3, ani 5 of BLOCK 86 IN 'lHE CIlY OF CLERMONT.", which was read in full and numbered ORDINANCE NO. 39. l1r. Roe moved its adoption, which was seconded by Mr. Stackhouse and carried. :Mro Roe made a motion that t:re rules be waived, and\,-chat th:l Ordinance be passed to its second reading. The mothn was seconded by Mr. Stackhouse, andon beIng put to a vote, the motion carried. Thereupon, the Ordinance was read in full. Er. Roe then moved that the Ordinance be adopted. ~~r" Sta ckhouse seconded the moti on, and on roll-call tre vote was as folloNs; Ayes- Johnson,Keene,Roe, Stackhousel Noes-none.
