CITY OF CLERMONT
MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT THE CITY HALL, TUES DAY, 1~RCH 28, 1939, 7:55 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by president O.R.Keene,
other Councilman present being Roy Lassiter, F.B.Roe, and
R. M. Stackhouse. Mayor Brown and City Attorney Geo. F.
Westbrook were also present.
Mr. Westbrook stated that the case in Federal Court
against the City Officials had been postponed indefinitely.
He reported that the Leedy wheeler Co. had enough of the
Clermont bonds signed up to start proceedings in the debt
settlement. Since Mr. Westbrook will be absent from
Cle~ont for the next ~10 months attending the Legislature,
he secured the services of Henry Jolly to handle the suit
of Clermont when filed, under the Wilcox Bankruptcy Act.
Mr. Jolly has been the Attorney for the cities of Sebring
and Avon Park in similar suits, ~ and obtained favorable
action by the Court.
There was considerable discussion ab out the Bo:uthern
boundary of the City, and Mr. Stackhouse made a motion that
the line be pT.~.m located as described by an act of the
Legislature in 1921. There was no second, so the matter
was dropped.
Mr. Geo. Muceneek asked permission to close the street
between his property and that of Mr. Pool, running north and
south from Minnehaha Ave to Lake Minnehaha, and also for
a culvert under Lake drive so he could irrigate his grove
on the north side of Lake drive. Mr. Roe made a motdlon
that Mr. Muceneek be permitted to put in such culvert, provided
he would repair any damage done to the pave men t, an d that
he be permitted to close the street between his property and
that of Cha s .Pool temporarily. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Lassiter, and carried.
Mr. Stackhouse made a motion, seconded by Mr. Lassiter
that Mr. We~tbr~.~~p'repare an ordinance re~iring sanitary
flush toile~~ttiLaings constructed. \1hen put to a vote,t)e
motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned to meet at the call of the president.
