MINUTES OF THE REGUT AR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT
THE CITY HALL, TUESDAY, ~i~~H?~~" 1939, 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by President O.H.Keene,
other cnuncilmen present being A~M.Johnson, F.B.Roe, and
R.M.Stackhouse. Mayor Brown, Marshall H.S.Cleaver, and
Street Supt. R.F.Anderson were also present.
M"nutes of the meeting Feb 7th were read and approved.

Mr. Han~, representing the Recreation Club,was present
and asked the Council for help in paying the salary of.Mrs.
She. rpe as caretaker of the Community Building in Kehlor Park.
Mr. Stackhouse made a motion, which was seconded by Mr.
Johnson, and carried, that the City pay Mrs. Sharpe $10.00
per month for three months, February, March and April, for
taking ca re of the Community Building. .
Mayor Brown then introduced Mr. Williams, representing
the State Board of Health, and Mr. Chester, representing the
County Health Unit.
Hr. Williams stated that a survey had been tmde of the
conditions under which milk is produced in the dairies in
and about Clermont, and offered an Ordinanc e proposed by
the United States Health service, regulating inspection of
dairies, requiring permits for Distributors of Milk and milk,
products, and requiring proper grErle labe!s on all milk sold.
Fr. Roe made a motio~l tha t the proposed ordinance be
given to City attorney, Geo. Westbrook, to pnpare'it for
action of the Council at the next regular meeting. The
motion was seconded by Mr. Stackhouse, and when put to a vote,
carrie d. ~o
Mr. Chest er reported that a survey of Cle nnont showed
that 69 toilets.had been condemned, and 11 places discovered
without toilets. Mr. Stackhouse tmde a motion that ~~165.00
be put in a revolving fund to be used to install toilets
where the owner was unable to ~ pal the total cost of
inst~~lion at once, if he would pay 32';00 down and $1.00
pe r until paid for. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Johnson ~nd when put to a vote, carried.

tm sani tary conditions and need of be tte r traffic controll.
Mr. Roe made a motion, which was seconded bYI~~~tStacBhouse,
and carried, thatt a Caation and stop signal E~Aplaced over
the intersection of Eighth and Montrose Streets on thirty
da ys trial.
Marshallf Cleaver's report was read and ordered filed.
A letter from G. A. Nash was read in which he complained
that some hogs had been running loose over his property.
Mayor Brown instructed Marshall Cleaver to notify E.W.Pope
to get his hogs ouside the City limits immediately.
Mr Roe made a motion that a claim be filed with the
Bonding company for City money collected by E. Sanders, and ~
not paid in to the City Clerk. The motion w's seconded by
lire Stackhouse, and when put to a vote, carried.

The City Clerk was instructed to have notice placed
in The Clermont Press, that Claims for Homestead Exemption
from City taxes must be filed each year before April 1st.
A limited supply of blanks are available at the City Hall.

ca. rried, that l1r. .Roe h9 authorized to purchase parts of
three cemetery lots from Mr. Wm Kern, for resale to anyone
wanting same.

Mr. Stackhouse made a motion, seconded by Mr. Roe, and
carried, that the following bills be approved and ordered"
