MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
AT THE Crrry HALL TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 1938, 5: 15 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by President O.H.
Keene, other Councilmen present being A.M.Johnson, Geo.
A. Robinson, and F.E.Roe. Mayor Brown and Marshall
Ernest Sanders were also present.

read and approvedo
Mayor Brown made his report in which he recommended
a WPA project to build certain streets. He ale appointed
a conunittoe, naming Albert Johnson, Irving Morse, Paul
Jett and R.M.Stack...'1.ouse, to t;ea if larger l"ecreation
facilities could be provided through the WPA, and if so,
to secure information and data for the COUllCil to prepare
a WPA Project.
Mr. Roe Jna.de a motion, seconded by Mr. HohltmsDn that
this Com'1'Ji ttee be approv'ed by the Council. MotIon carried.
Mr. Roe made a motion that the City loan six chairs
for use in the Groveland sewing room as long as Clermont
women are working there~ or until such time as a work room
for women is put in operation here in Cle]~ont. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Jolli~son, and carri~u.

l\~r. Robinson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Roe,
w:lich carried, that the City buy 500 feet of 2" pipe to ]uJ.~
replace the present ~II line in "Lincoln Holghts School"
sub-division to provide water servic'3 to several new houses
being builto
The agent for Eureka Fire Hose wa~ present and showed
samples of fire hose and <;,uoted prices and. tel'iil;], but the
Council decided to wait until hearing from anothel' company
befol'o ordering any.

and carried, that no servicreable fiI.e hose be loaned out
for any purpose..

By motion of Mr. Robinson, seconded by Mr. Johnson
and carried, trr~ City ~lerk is authorized to buy enough
611 pipe andaHydrant to be placed at the corner of FIfth
and Osceola Sts.
An application by V.C.Ryals for a license for retail
liquor store beginning Oct.l,1938. By motion of Mr.
Robinsonp seconded by Mr. JOhnson, and carried, the
application was referred to the Law & Order Cornmittse.
Mr. Roe made a ~otion that a two in.stand pipe with
gate valve be put in at th~ corner of Minnehaha Ave and
'l'welfth St., and one at the corner of Linden aEc.1 rrw"elfth
Sts. The motion was seconded by Mr. Robinson, and carried.
