The minutes of tho regular meeting March 2nd, and af
the Special meeting March 2lst were read and approved.

Mayor Brmvn reported one arrest and fine assessed;
also, theold building on Minneola Ave between Seventh and
Eighth Streets removed and property owners in the Fire Zone
to remove trash and rubbish from their premises.
The resignation of City Treasurer,WE.Stansell was read.
Mr. Robinson made a mot ion that the resignation be accepted.
Mr. Roe seconded the motion, and when put to a vote, the
motion carried.. .
It was moved by Mr. Roe, seconded by Mr. Robinson
that Geoo Brady be appointed Ac~ing Treasurer. When put
to a vote the motion carried.
Mr. Brovvn reported on the W.P.A. projects that under
the present laws, the slum clearance and housing project
could not be handled by the W.P.A. On the Lake Minneola
Drive project, the State Highway Engineers had made a
preliminary survey and were making estimates of the cost
to build a sea wall and fill in along the shore from the
Borth end of Eighth Street east and north to the camp at
Minneolao The Federal Government would furnish the labor,
and material not to exceed 20~ of the enst of the entire
project.

Mr. Robinson made a motion that the Council go on
record as favoring a WPA project to remove excess dirt
between Street curbs and property lines to prevent it from
washing down on the streets, and filling in where needed.
Mr. Johnson seconded the motion, which carried. Mayor
Brown ann. Councilman Roe were asked to contact t'he proper
authorities to see what could be done about it.

~ Mr. Leedy of Leedy,~~eelur and Co. was present and the
Bond situation was discussed at length. The City officials
expressed their opinions on the subject, and all agreed that
! the City should go ahead and try to reach a settlment. Mr.
, Leedy said his firm would start to work immediately to contact J
I all known bondholders and work out an agreement with them I
\ ~~~~~~~~~~ subject to the approval of the property I
\ owners of Clermont. .J

Mr. Robinson then introduced the following Ordinance:
"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE RETENTION OF FEES HI. ID TO ANY
OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE OF' THE CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA" which
was read in full and numbered Ordinance No.35., Mr.Robinson
moved its adoption, which was seconded by Mr. Lassiter and
carried. Mro Hoblhnson then made a motioh that the rules
be waived, and that the Ordinance be passed to its second
reading. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lassiter, and on
being put to a vote, carried. Thereupon the Ordinance was
read in full. Mr. Robinson then moved that the Ordinance
be adopted. Mr. Lassiter seconded the motion, and on roll
call the vote was as follows: AYES-Johnson, Keene, Lassiter,
Robthnsonp Roe; NOES-none. So tl'"1e Ordinance passed, title
as stated, and was signed by the president of the City Council
and by the City Clerk, and i'mediately certified to the Mayor;
who signed it this date. ']\,e Ordinance appears in the
Ordinanc~ Book in full.

Mr. Robinson then offered the following Ordinance:

POSESSING OF ANY LOTTERY TICKET OR EVIDENCE OF ANY SHARE OR
RIl:iHT IN ANY LOTTERY TICKET OR ANY LOTTERY SCHEME, APPARATUS
OR DEVICE, OR HAVING IN POSESSION ANY LOTTERY ADVERTISEMENT,
CIRCULAR, POSTER, BOOK OR PAMPHLET OR SCHEDULE OF ANY

in full and numbered Ordinance No. 36. Mr. Robinson
moved its adoption, which was seconded by Mr.Roe, and on
being put to a vote,carried. Mr. Robinson then moved that
the rules be waived, and that the Ordinance be passed to its
second reading. The motion was seconded by Mr. Roe, and
when put to avote, the motion carried. Thereupon the
Ordinance was read in full. Mr. Robinson then moved that
the Ordinance be adopted, which was seconded by Mr. Roe,
"and on roll callg the vote was as follows: AYES- Johnson,
Keene, Lassiterg Robinson, Roe; NOES-none. So the Ordinance
No.36 passed, title as stated, and was signed by the preaident
of the City Council, and by the City Clerk, and immediately
certified to the Mayor,. who signed i t this date. The
Ordinance appears in the Ordinance Book in full.
'It was moved by Mr. RObinson, seconded by Mr. Roe, and
carried, that City Attorney Geo. Westbrook be ~id $25.00
per month, for his services, beginning March 1, 1938.
It was moved by Robinson, seconded by Roe, and carried,
that the permit of C.W.Porterfield for a temporary gas pllmp
near the curb on Minneola Ave. jRRt west of the Ford garage
be extended for thirty days.
By motion of Mr. Rob~ns~on, seconded by Mr. Johnson,
which carriedg Mr. Roe was anowed $150.00 for the repair of
the Library bu~,lding, instead of $100.00 as passed at the
last Meeting.
