MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT
THE CITY HALL, MONDAY, MARCH 21,1938, 8:00 P.M.

8:00 p.n/i., Monday, March 21, 1938, at t!l11 Council Chamber'.
Upon roll call tl".e following were found to be present:
Councilmen O.H.Keene, Geo.A.Robinson,F.B.Roe, A.M.Johnson;
Absent,Councilman Roy Lassiter. Mayor H.C.Brown, City
Clel~ R.F.House and City Attorney Geo.F.Westbrook were
also present.

President Keene stated that the purpose of the
meeting was to consider a proposal from the firm of
Leedy-Vfueeler & Co. of Orlando, Flarida, relative to
refunding the outstanding indebtedness of the City and
requ~sted Mr. l~!estbrook to explain the proposition to
the Council.
Mr. Westbrook read the proposed preliminary agreement
with Leedy-Wheeler & Co. and discussed the same at some
length. Mr. Robinson moved that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be authorized and directed to execute the agreement
on behalf of the City. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Johnson and on the motion the rollwas called
and the vote was as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Keene, Johnson, Robinson, and Roe.
Nays: None, so the motion was passed. A copy of the
agreement 1s attached to the minutes of this meeting of
the Council.

r,'Jr. Roe made a motion that the old building on lots
8 & 10, block '79 on Minneola Avenue" belonging to Sam
Seiler be condemned, and the Mayor directed to notify
the owner to have it removed. Mr. Robinson seconded
the motion, and when put to a vote, the motion carried.
Mr. Johnson made a motion that vib,Ell'e conditions on
any pn.operty within the fire zone cl"eate a hazardous risk,
the Mayor be directed to notify the owner of the property
to clean up the premises, or the City crew would do so at
the expense of the owner of tho property. Mr. Robinson
seconded the motion, and when pu to a vote, the motion
carried.
r~!r. ROE~ madle a motion that the boat house in Lake
Minneola at the north end of Seventh Street be torn down
by the City Crew, and the lumber stored on the City's
lot for later use. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Robinson, and upon being put to a vote, t-e motion carried.
?~. Robinson made a motion t~at Mr. Roe be authorized
to have the Library building l'epa.ired and painted at a

cost of not over ~vlOO.OO. Mr. Johnson seconded the
notion, which carried.
