MiNuTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING 01" THE CI'l-ry COUNC1L HELD
AT THE CITY HALT.; TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1938, 7:45 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by president O.H.
Keene, other Councilmen! present being A.M.Johnson, F.B.
Roe and Geo Robinson. Mayor B.C.Brown, Marshall Ernest
Sanders, and St. Supt. R.F.Anderson were also present.
Minutes of t~e meetings of January 4th and Janunry
21st were read and approved.

Irving Morse was present and reported that the gift
of the "Cooper Memmrial Library" to the City was delaye d
until the signa~u~cs of all persons XMX having any claim
on the property could be secured, but that he and Mr.
Westbrook get all h3cassary papers ready as soon as possible.
Mr. C. W. Porterfield asked permisslon from the City
to place a gasolene pump between the sidewalk and street
curb southwest of the Clermont Motor Co. gagage on Minneola
Ave. for temporary use ~ot to exceed sixty days. Mr.
Robinson ITaoe a motiom":h1.c/~ was seconded by Mr. Roe, a::d
carried; that such temporary permit be granted.
Mr. Brovm reported no arrests in January. He stated
tr.at the new Zoning Corr~issicn had met and organized, naming
F.B.Kreider C~alrman, I.E.Burtts,Vice Chairm~ and R.M.
Stackhouse Secretary. He suggested th~ eeme arrar.g011iuftt
be made with property owners for changing drivew8.Js that
extend ir.t.o the street beyond the curb line.
Mr. Roe made a motion that the Street CCnl'!littee and
Street superintendent ~ork out a solution of the driveway
problem with the property owners coneerned. The motion
was seccbnded by Mr. J.ohnson, and carried.
The reports of tbB Marshall, and Street Supt. were
read and ordered filed.

Mr. Roe made 8. motion that the City build a garage
for the street truck and tools on the City owned lots
12 -% 13, Bloclc 4, Sunset Heights eas t of the residence
of Ren Anderson-as soon as funds are availablG. Size
of building to be 16'x 20'. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Robinson, and carried.
A letter from the Frank S~_epe_rd COr.1pany, New York,
was read, and ~JY motion of Mr. Robdmson, - seconded by
Mr. Roe, ~llich carried, the City Clerk was instructed to
turn the let"i,er O'iu:r' to the City Attornel'y to be answered
by hiJp.

carried, that the Postal Colony Co. be givon the use of
the City Hall Fobruary 16th for its annual meetl:'lg.

After some d1.scussion of the crowded condition of
tho sL::e0+.s around Kehlor Park and the Baptist Church
du.e to trle grea t number of cars parked there at times,
Mr. Johnson made a motion that parking regulations around
those two plac8s, 00 turned over to the street Co~ittee,
with power to act. The motion was seconded by Mr. Roe
and on being put to u vote, carried.
By motion of Mr. Roe, seconded by Mr. Johnson, the
bill of IV1r. C.E.Sullins amounting to $5.00 for fees on
arrests made in November 1937 was ordered tabled; and
the following bills approved and ordered paid when monGY
is available a
