01-05-1937 Regular Meeting .~ ., ~ ~ MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, HELD AT T~ CITY HALL, TUESDAY, JANUATY 5, 19:57, 7:30 P.M. Meeting ca1ledt 0 order by President Geo Robinson, other Councilmen present being Wm Kern,Roy Lassiter, R. L. Ogden and F.B.Roe. Mayor Keene, :r.:;arshall Sullins and Treasurer ~ W.E.Stansell were also present. Minutes of the last regular meeting and of.the special meeting Dec 11, 1935, read and approved. City Attorney Wes~brook was unable to be present, but sent a letter to the Council which was read by the Clerk and filed. The l~tteI' contained recOlmnendations for pr'ocedure dln the meeting, some suggestions concerning ordinances. It also stated that things looked moire fovorab1e for an agl"'eement vii th the bondholders on a settlement, than at any previous time. The Mayors report was read, which stated that he had the County Road crew repairing holes in t....'e streets, several loads of Clay hauled to uppaved streets in the Heights seBtion, so people can get to and from their places. He alsp reported Ernest Sander's appointed as special police for one night while Mr. Sullins was sick, and Richard Bronson three night as special police. Only one arrest. An escaped prisoner came back and is wODking out his fine. Fire Chief Achord reported Fire Engine checked Dec 6,13, 20, 27, and 31 and found O.k. By motion of Roe, seconded by Lassiter, w~ich carried, Hrs. F.A.Sharpe is to b~ paid $10.00 per month from Dec 1st to May 1st to look after the new corrilllunity building in Kehlor Park.
