09-17-1936 Called Meeting .~ .", ~ ~ ~ MINUTES OF A CALLED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT THE CITY HALL, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11,1936, Vice Chairman Robinson being out of the City, Mayor Keene was asked to take the chair, and he called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.M. Other Council men present were Wm Kern, R. L. Ogden, and F. B. Roe. Councilman-elect Roy Lassiter was sworn into office by Mayor Keene. Mr. ~oe Ingram and Mr, Hire~, representing the Florida Public Service Co. were present~ mdd discussed the cost of putting the ~~ite Way in service. Lassiter By motion of Roe, seconded by m~~KK, which carrie~, the Mayor was authorized to make a five year contract with the Florida Public Service Co. to include the present Street lights, and all the white way lights on Montrose and Bighth Streets, at a cost of apprlximately $40.00~per month more than the present rate.on the overhead lights} the white way lights to be turned on by the 15th of October if the system can be put in shape by tnat time. . Councilman Roe then introduced the following Ordinance: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7 and 7A OF ORDINANCE NO.23, OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT RELATING TO OCGUP ATIONAL LICENSE TAXES, which was read in full, and numbered Ordinance No.26. Councilman Roe then moved that the rules be waived and that Ordinance No. 26 be placed.on its second reading and passage, which was seconded by Councilman Ogaen, and the motion carried unanimously. Thereupon Ordinance No. 26 was read in full, and upon roll call vote was as follows: Aye~ Kern, Lassiter, Ogden, Roe. Nayes none So the Ord~nance passed title as stated and was signed by the Acting President of the City Council and the City Clerk, and immediately certified to t~e Mayor. The Ordinance appears in the Or~inance Book in full. The application of W. P. Frisz for a Liquor License was read and approved, and the Clerk instructed to issue a license upon receiving the anount of the license fee. Councilman Roe the made a motion that the s'alary of Ernest Sanders be increased to $75.00 per month, which was seconded by Councilman Lassiter, and upon being put to a vote, carried. The Marshall was instructed to get some paint and have the fire hydrants painted.
