" , Meeting called to order by Presi~ent O.H.Keene, other Counc-ilmen present be.~ng ,Wm Kern, Geo Robinson and F. B. Roe. R. L. Ogden came in a 'few minutes later. Mr. S. O. Ware, Mayor, and Marshall Sullins were also present. Mayor Ware reported two fines or $5.00 each and ,an old fine of $5.00 collected, making a total.of $15.00 into the Treasury. ~ ' Marshall Sullins reported thmee arrests and $15.00 and costs collected in August, and two arrests and one fine of t~p $10.50 and costs collected in July, and turned over to t~, City Clerk. , Fire Chief Achord reported Engine checked""August 2, '9, 16 and 30, and found O.K., and one fire call A~g 2. On motion of Bgeen, seconded by Roe which carried, the Council will take this under advisement until the next meeting. By motion of Roe seconded by Ogden, which carried, the Council will have two signs painted and erected on the road leading to the dumping pit, cautioning all persons against scattering trash and refuse any place except in the pit. By motion of Robinson, seconded by Roe, which carried~ the City Dog Licemces will become delinquent May 1, each year to correspond with the ordinance covering vaccination for Rabies. ~ ~ Mayer Ware turned over to the Ci ty a che ck from the County Commissioners which represented a payment on the Road tax collected in Clermont. By Mo~ion of Robinson, seconded by Roe which carried, the Clermont-Minneola School or others may hiee the new power lawn mower with operator @ $1.00 per hour. , Mr. Ware handed in his resignation stating that on account or ill health, he considered it advisable to resign from the . ,. office of Mayor. By motion of RObinson, seconded by Roe the resignation was accepted with regrets, and the following resolution was offered by Councilman Robinson; and passed unE!nimously: RESOLUTION WHEREAS Mr.' S. O. Ware, Mayor of the City of Clermont, has tendered his resignation as Mayor on account of ill health and such resignation has been accepted by the City Council; and .~ W' Whereas Mr. Ware has been Mayor of the City of Clermont for mapy years and has served faithfully and.efficiently as such Mayor and has given generously of his time and abilities in serving the City of Clermont; and WHEREAS"the City Council deems it fit and proper that some expression of their appreciation be made, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clerment that the said City Council hereby expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. S. O. Ware for the services' he 'has render- ed to the City of Clermont; and further expresses the wish' that his health may improve rapidly and that he may be able to serve the City further. . '- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a page of the minutes of the City Councilbe set apart for the recording of the original of this resolution, and that a copy thereof be furnished to Mr. Ware, an danother copy to the Clermont Press". ~ .., .- Migutes of Regular Council Meet~ng Sept.l,1936 Page 3 Therupon the Council appointed Roy Lassiter to fill the vacancy in the CoUlXil as O.H. Keene takes the odlf'lce of Mayor. By motion of Roe, seconded by Ogden, the Street Committee and Mayor Keene were given authority to make a contract with the Florida Public Service Co to operate- - the white way lights. -~ ., The Council then went into executive session and discussed several matters, but no action was taken.
