MINUTES OF MEETING OF 'I'HE CITY COUNCIL
HELD ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1935.

The City Council met at the call of president
Keene at 5:30 P.M. Friday, November 8, 1935, at the
City Hall. Those present were Councilmen Keene,
Robinson, Roe and Ogden. Mayor Ware, Marshall Sullins
and City Attorney Westbrook were also present.
Mayor Ware reported that he had suspended City
Clerk, Carl Kindred, such suspension to continue until
the regular meeting of the Council in December, unless
sooner revoked.
Mr. Robinson moved that no business be transacted
at this meeting other than the appointment of an acting
Clerk and the election of a treasurer to fill the
unexpired term of the late Paul Settle. The motion
prevailed.
Mr. Roe nominated Geo. F. Westbrook for Treasurer
and there being no other nominations, he was unanimously
elected as City Treasurer to fill the unexpired term of
the late Paul Settle. Mr Westbrook being present, the
oath of office was administered to him by Mayor Ware.
Mr. Roe nomimated Russell F. House as acting City
Clerk to serve during the suspension of Mr. Kindred.
There being no other nominations, Mr. House was unanimously
elected. Mr. House was present and the oath of office
was administered to, him by Mayor Ware.
Mr. Robinson moved that the Council now adjourn to
meet Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. November 13, 1935. The
motion prevailed and the Council adjourned.
