03-14-1935 Regular Meeting "- Minutes adjourned meeting of the'City Council held at the office of Attorney Westbrook, March 14, 1935 Meeting called to order at 2;45 P.M. By President teene, Councilmen present Roe, Kern, Robinson, Mayor Ware and Attorney Westbrook. The first subject that came up for discussion was the passing of a Zoning Ordiaance, thereuopn Attorney WestbroOk read that portion of the City Char'er with reference to'Zoning and planning which stated tat the Cl'tr7 Council should appoint a loning Gommlssion to be composed of five members to make recommendations and that the Council Could make and pass Ordinances in accordance with their recommendations. By motion which was seconded and carried the following citi~ens were named a Zoning Commission. R.W. Simms, A.L. Iz1ar, J.E. Westbrook, S.R. Bowman, Chas R. Short. The subject of Liquor li.enses next came up for discussion. Atter reading the law Attorney Westbrook informed the Council that the liquir license for clubs will be $87.50 tor clubs and not less than $250.00 for liquor dealers. Attorney ~vestbrook then inf'ormed the Council that certain bondholders would not agree to come in on the 25-75 plan whioh was recently put before the bondholders but that they countered with a fifteen year plan that the principal remain the same, that the past due interest be cancelled, and the inberest on the refunded bands be 1% for the first five years, 2% the next five years and 3% for the third five year period. It appeared best to 4efer anJ action on this proposal until the legislature meets and see what provision is made for the obtaining of revenues to operate the Ci~ in view of the passage of the homestead tax exemption ammendment.
