08-01-1933 Regular Meeting Minutes regula.r meeting Clermont City Council held at the City hall August 1, 1933. Meeting called to order at 7;30 P.M. by President House. Councilmen present Perry, Miller and Kern. ..~ ,., Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. The Treasurers Report showed the following ba1amces in the respective funds. General $64.34 Klemm Estate $454.52 Water $423.22. 'The marshall reported three arrests made and $29.00 in dog licenses collected and $48.21 collected in occupation licenses. Morrison $67 .80~. 3.97"""'" 1.52 -- 45 .50 ~< ,\ ~ I It was then brought to the attwntion of the Council that tractors working in the Pope and Chandler Grove were driving upon the paved road to turn around with their discs thereby doing considerable damage to the paving and tearing down the curb. After some discussion the clerk was instructed to take the matter up with O.H. Keene, agricultural supervisor and see if this damage could be repaieed and this practice of turning around on the paving stopped. It was moved by Mr. Perr,r. that the salary of Marshall Sullins be increased to $110.00 per month. The motio~ was seconded by Mr. ~ern and upon roll call the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Sullins was given an added duty of cutting off the water when the bills are not paid. ~ ., A ~otlon was made, seconded and carried that in the event water users are in arrears two or more months the users are to pay the current month's bill and the oldest delinquent bill each month until the bill is paid in full. In the event the water is cut off there shall be a service charge of $1.00 for turning the water back on. Minutes regular meeting Aug. 1, 1933 Sheet No. 2 n~ .~ Mr. H. C. B~wn presented to the Council a requast for permission to dismantle the present structure in Lake Minneo1a at the foot of Eighth Street, and to build I a new recreation pier on the lake front. Thereupon, Mr. hu.'~'~'1-V- intro duced the following reso1ution: WHEREAS, the present structure, located in Lake Minneo1a at the foot of Eighth Street, is in an unsafe condition, and constitutes a menace to the safety of the citizens of Clermont, and in the judgment of the City Council, this structure should be removed; therefore, per- mission is hereby granted to H. C. Br~wn and associates to dismantle and remove this structure, the same to be done in such manner as will leave no rubbish or debris or other unsightly matters where the building is now located. And permission is further granted to the said H. C. Brown and associates to construct a recreation pier in the waters of Lake Minneola, smmewhere in the vicinity of the foot of Eighth Street, such pier to be so constructed that it will not appear unsightly, and will be safe for the use of the ci tizens of Clermont. Permission is further gran ted said H. C. Brown and associates for the construction of bath houses on the shore I of said Lake Minneo1a, in the vicinity of Eighth Street, but not to be located north of Eighth Streeti such bath houses to be constructed in a neat manner, and so oanstructed that they will not appear unsightly, and be under the supervision ~xxxxxxxxxxxx ~ ~~~x~~~~ .~ .,., ~,;+'--~ .../ r , ti~.:' of a permanent organization. Material taken from Building to be used in the construction of said bath houses and pier, or if sold the proceeds used for material in the above projects.
