Minutes regular meeting Clermont City Counoil held
at the City Hall ,August 7" 1928.
M~eting oalled to order at eight. o'clock P.M. by Vive
President nUlls. Councilmen present, Simms, Tabor, and
~estbrook; Attorney Westbrook and Mayor McKinney.

The above bill was approved and the clerk was instructed
to. pay $1,000.00 to apply on same.
Mr. Milis,: ohairman 01 the water cpmmittee reported
a well 190 feet deep with 130 feet. of water of an
exoellent Suality an~apparently s~fioient quantity
to supply 1500 pllons.per minute.
By motion which was s~conded and o~rried the clerk was
instructed. to advertipe ~~ in t~e Cle~ont press
for bids op a pump wi~h a minimum papacity of 500
gallons per minute, eleotrioally driven, installed and
conneoted up. Said bids to be opened Tuesday night
August 14th9 for consideration.
It was moved, seconded and carried that $183.14 ~e .
drawn from the general fund to replace the money stolen
from the tax fund Apr~l 8, 1928.
Tax Assessor H.H. Keene submitted tbe assessment roll,
for the %i2I year of 1928. ~he assessed valuation of
rea~ ~~_r~T property being $3,096,015.00 and . .
Personal $113,064.00. It was moved, seconded and carried
tha~ the Counoil sit as an equalizatJon board to receive
app~ications for adjustment on the night of Augus~ 28t.~
mr."C.F.A. Patterson registered a complaint that a
neighbor was eno~oaching on his property with' a building.
the matter was referred to the Fire and Building Committee

Mr.:Tabor from the street committee reported 1446 of
12 !nch storm sewer laid in the completion of projects
5 and 6 at a cost of about fifty three cents per foot..
Mr.:Tabor also reported oonsiderable work haviDg baam
done in the various parkwayS. of the city..
Mr. .Mills, manager of the Baseball team reported the team
tied for first plaoe in the seoond half of the Lake
Orange ~eague series, and asled for assistance from
the.o~ty in the way of finanoial support. After some
discussion regarding the value ot a wi~lng pall team .
from a pub11cit1 standpoint, it was moved by Mr. Simms.
and.seoonded by Mr. Wastb~oQk that the baseball boys
work on the various parks, the reaminder of the season
and that the team be paid an ~ount not exceeding
$400.00 one half of said amount to be paid out of the
pub::(icm.ty fund and one half out of the park fund. On.
bei~ put to a vote the,motlon carried. .
There being no further business the meeting adjourned
to meet at the oall of the president.
