MINUTES OF A CALL MEETING OF THE CITY COm~CIL OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT HELD AT THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK AT
80~clock September the 27th, I926 for the purpoise of
reviewing and equilizing the "TAX ASSESSMENTlI for the
year I926 and transacting any other buisness that might come
before them. .
In the absence of H. ,C. Brown the meeting was presided over by
w. M. Davenport, and upon roll call by the Clerk showed the
following members present,

C. E. Tabor
H. F. Bailey
B. w. Wait Attorney
Jsam Blackburn Assessor and Clerk
The Clerk read a complaint from Thomas Hartsaw asking
that his assessment be change from $800.00 to $500.00
stating that the recent rains had raised the water so that
most of his land was under water at the present time. Upon
a roll call vote the following voted "YESlI Davenport,
Tabor. Bailey.
H. F. Bailey stated that the street around Center Lake
had taken a good portion of his lots # 4-5 Block #98 and
therefore re~uested that this assessment be changed from
$I200000 to $800.00 the following voted "YES" Davenport,
Bailey. Tabor.
A. B. McNiece requested that Lots #-II- I2- I3 and
the N25' of I4- I5- & I6 in Block #57 be changed from
$I2000.00 to $IO.OOOoOO and was refused.
BanD E. Irby requested thet The City'gt've him a note
for the balance due him for Architectial service on the
City Hall which was granted.
RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, Ben E. Irby has completed his contract with the
City of Clermont for the erection of the City Hall, and the
building has been accepted by and on behalf of the City,and
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont ,is now indebted unto the said
Ben E. irby under its contract with him for his Architecural
servic~s rendered on said building in the sum of ($235.6et
Two Hundred Thirty Five Dollars and Sixty Cents, and .
Whereas, the proceeds from the sale of said bonds here-
tofore issued by the City if Clermdmt for theporpose of
erecting the City Hall were insufficient to meet the cost of
said building; and
WHEREAS? there are not now and will not be funds avail-
able wherewith to pay the balance so due, said Ben E. irby
until the taxes of I926 shall become due and payable;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the
P~esident of the Councif be authorized and directed to make
execute and deliver unto the said Ben E. Irby a certificate
of indebtedness, in the sum of $235.60. payable On the I5th,
day of December I926.

This is to certify that the City of Clermont a Municipal
Corporation, in the County of Lake and the State of Florida,is
indebted to Ben E. Irby in the sum of (235.60) Two Hundred
Thirty Five Dollars and Sixty cents which-sum they agree to
pay to the said Ben E. Irby on or before December 15th, 1926
with interest at the rate of 8% until paid.
This certificate is issued in compliance with a resolution
duly and regurarly passed by the City Council of the City of
Clermont onthe 27th, day of September 1926.
