City of Ulermont, held October loth, 1924, at 2:00 o'clock P. M.
The 'ity Uouncil of the Uity of Clermont met in regular adjourned
meeting at the usgal meeting place of the Council on October loth, 1924, at
2:00 o'clock P. M. Present; Messrs. H. L. House, H. C. Brown, Wm. Bess,
D. J. '!'testbrook;Councilmen; W. N. McKinney, M%ror, B. W. Wait, City Attorney,
A. P. Gibwon, City r'ngineer and Edythe M. Litsrodt, Clerk.
Absent; Isam Blackburn.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. H. L House, President of the
City Council.
Thereupon, Mr. H. Be House, President of the City ''ouncil, announced
that the `'ity Council'would receive bids of the material, equipment and labor
for the proposed street ipprovements in the Uity of Clermont, pursuant to the
provisions of a notice published in the Clermont Presson September 18th, 25th,
October 2nd and 9th, 1924.
Thereupon, there were submitted the following bids:

Thereupon, the City Council went into executive session for the purpose
of aasidering said bids.
Thereupon, said Uity Council having considered all of the said b ids,
upon motion made by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Bess, the following
resolution was, upon roll call vote, unanimously adoptedt
WHEREAS, The City Council has considered all of th6 bids this day
submitted for furnishing all material, equipment and labor for constructing, grad-
ing pavibg and otherwise improving certain streets and avenues withft the corporate
limits of the City of `'lermomt, pursuant to the provisions of a certain resolution
passed and adopted by the City Council on the 9th day of September, 1924; and
yffM1EAS, it appears from an examination of said bids that it is expedient
and to the best interests of the City Council of th:: City of b'lermont and its pre p-

arty owners to construct the paving on said streets and avenuev upon a six inch
rolled stone base, and to surface the same with Finley Method Type "B" pavement;
and
WHEREAS, it further appears from an examination of said bids that the
bid of Cox, Jernigan & Company, in the sum of $49,948.70 for such type of
pavement, is the lowest and least bid submitted;
NOW, THEREFORZ BE IT RESOLVED, That the bid of Cox,Jernigan and
Compny of Clermont, Lake Uounty, Florida, in the sum of $49,948.70, 4or con-
structing, grading, paving andotherwise improving certain streets and avenues with-
in the corporate limits of theCity of Clermont, pursuant to the provisions of a
resolution passed by the City Council on the 9th day of September, 1924; said
paving to be constructed upon a six inch rolled stone base, and to be surfaced
with Finley Method Tape "B" pavement - be, add the s me is hereby accepted
and the contract therefore ordered let to the said Cox, Jernigan & Company
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the said Contractors be, and they are
hereby required to forthwith to furnish a good and sufficient surety bond in
the sum of Twenty-four Thousand Nine Eundred Sevent#-four and 35/100 Dollars
($24,974.35) for the faithful performance of said contract; said bond to be
approved by the Mayor and City Clerk of said City of Clermont; and
BE IT FURTHER ROSOLVEDa That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they
are hereby authorized and instftoted forthwith to enter into a contract with
the said Contractors, said contract to be executed pursuant to the provisions of
the plans, specifications and proposals heretofore adopted by the said City
Council.
Thereupon, upon motion duly made and carried.9 all other bids sub-
mi.tted were rejected by the City council, and the Uity.Clerk was instructed to
return to each of the unsuccessful bidders the certified checks respectively
attached to each of said bids.
Thereupon, upon motion made and carried, the Uity dounoil adjourned
to meet at 100 o'clock on October llth, for the purpose of receiving bids
for the sale of Improvement Bonds of said City of Clermont, in the sum of
$40,000.00.

of the proposed improvements and profiles of the' streets and
described in said original resolution, as amended; and

the proposed improvements and profiles of the streets and ave.,
Ls deFcribt•d in said amended resolution, were prepared by A.P.
Gibson, City En-;ineer, and were duly filed in the office of the
City Clerk for public inspection as provided by law; and
;whereas, in accordance with said ori•7,inal resolution and
the amendment thereto, the City C1erk.and.Tax kssessor made and
prepared an assessment roll in accordance with the method of
assessment provided for in said resolution, assessing all logs

Whereas, upon the completion of said special assess-
ment roll, the said City Clerk abd Tax Assessor filed same in

the office of the said City Clerk, and caused notice to be
published rs required by the provisions of Chapter 9298,
Acts of the Legislature above eet forth, to the o?mer of each
lot or parcel of land to be specially assessed in connection
with said improvements, sittin:*, forth the time and place where
complaints mi-pht be heard before the said City Council sitting;
as an equalizin^ board; and
Whereas, at the time and place stated in said notice to
said property owners to-ait: oii the 7th day of October, 1924,
at the office of the City Clerk in the said City of Clermont,
the City Council met at 1.30 P.M. on said dace to hear all
com:laints and objections 4s to said assessment as aforesaid; and

ments on all of the streets and avenues described and set forth

City of Clermont on the 15th day of September, 1924, and the

Of said streets and avenues now on file in the office of the
City Clerk and that the said special assessments heretofore
made by the City Clerk and Tax Assessor as set forht in the
assessment roll prepared by them against all lots and lands

same are hereby'gqualized, approved and confirmed by the Uity
Council of the City of Clermont, and from this date shall be
