The City Council of the %ity of Clermont met in regular monthly
meeting at the usual meeting place of the Council on October 7th, 1924, at
atoo o'clock P. M. Present, Messrs, H. L. House, A. C. gown, Was Bess,
D. J.Westbrook, Councilman; Mayor W. N. McKinney; B. W. Wait, City Attorney,
ldythe M. Litzrodt, City Clerk.
Absent, J. D. Jones.
The Meeting was presided over by Mr. H. L. House, President of the
City Council.
The Clerk presented to the Council the resignation of Mr. J. D. Jones
as a member of the City Council.

Upon motion duly made and seconded, the resignation of Mr. Jones was

Blackburn as Tax Assessor.

Upon motion duly made and seconded Mr. Blackburn's resignation was

appointed as a member of the City Council to fill the vacancy occasioned by the

resignation of Mr. J. D. Jones as member of the Council,it appearing to the Council
that such Vacancy having occured less than six months prior to the next general
municipal election, which is to be held on Tuesday, the 9th day of December, A. D
1924. Mr. Isam Blackburn was. -duly sworn in by the Mayor as a member
of the CQ,uncil
'hereupon, on motion duly made and seconded, Miss Helen M. Willard
was appointed as Tax Collector to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation .
of Mr. F. L.Nettleton as Tax Collector.
The Clerk them presented to the Council proof of publication of the
assessment roll which was ordered filed in the archives of the Uity.
The President of the Council then announced that the Council, sitting
as an Equalizing -board, weds prepared to hear objections to the said assessments,
as provided in the notice theretofore duly given to all persons owning or interested
in any lots or lands adjoining and contiguous to or bounding and abutting upon any
of the said streets or blocks.
There being no objections, on motion duly made and seconded, the following
resolution was adopted.

9th day of September, 19Q4, duly passed and ad -.,bed a Y-esolution
providing for constructing, ,-radeinrr, pavin uud otherwise mp
provinx certain struts and avenues within the corporate limits
of th;- City of Clermont; and
V.1hereas, plans, specifications and estimates of the pro-
posed improvements and profiles of the streets and aveneues therein
described in said resolution aere prepared by A.P. Gibson, City .6n.;ineer
and were duly filed in the office of the City Clerk for public inspect: )n
as provided by lair; and
['lhereas, said resolution providin for said improvements -.as
duly published in a weekly newspaper published i- tie City of Clermonnt
as required by Chapter 9298,-General Acts of the L:.:3islaturc of tho
State of Florida, fo-r the sessi-)n of 1923; and

that the said City Council did meet re ulcer adjo1.1rned session on
Tuesday, the loth day of September, 1824, at 1.30 o'clock r.i;;. at
the office of the City Clerk for the purpose of hearing; objections
in reference to radein•r, paring and otherwise improvein:T said. blocks
of said streets and avenues; and
11hereas, the notice provided fo:,• in said last mentioned re-
solution was duly published in the Clermont Pres^, a werkly newspaper
published in the City of Clermont in its issue of September, llth, 1924;
and
Whereas, the said City Council met in re,-cul .r adjo.zrnad ses ion
on the 16th day of Sept., 1924 at 1.30 o'clock P.L% at the office of
the Clerk of the City of Clermont, and heard objection:, in reference
to -trade- inn, pavin-- and otherwise imljrovin:; certain streets and ave.,
and amended the said resolution passed and adouted on the 9th day of
Sept., 1924, by strikin: from the streets and avenues so to be con-
structed, t7raded, paved and otherwise improved the' followin=; streets
and avenues;
Thereupon, upon motion duly uma.de and seconded, the City
07erk was directed to notify the property owners and all other persons
izterested, that the special assessments set forth in the assessment
--� roll prepared by the City Clerk and Tax Assessor, pursuant totbe
provisions of a certain resolution adopted by the City Council o8
the 9th day of September, 19249 have been finally approved and confirmd
by the City Council on this date; and that said persons be further
notified that said special assessments may be paid in full in caja.h
with out irberest at any time within thirty days from and after tie
date..; that payment shall be mde to C.W. Roe, City Treasurer;
that the First State Bank of Clermont be designated :by the City
Council as the depository for all funds collected, and that all
funds so collected shall be deposited in:said bank to the credit of
the City of Clermont, ina special fund to be known and designated
as "Special Improvement Fund No. 20.
Thereupon, on motion duly made and seconded, the said
City Council adopted the following form of notice, and ordered same
to be published by the City Clerk in the Clermont Press, once each
week lbr three successive weeks, beginning October 9th, 1924:

19241, finally approved and confirmed the special assesements set
forth in the asFessment roll prepared by the City Clerk and Tax
Assesor pursuant to the provisions of a certain resolution adopt-
ed by the City Council on the 9th day of oeptember,1924, as re-
vised, amended and corrected by said City Council at a regular
adjourned meetin; held on the 16th day of beptember,1924

further notified that laid special assessments may be paid in mull
in cash, without interest, at any time within thirty (30) days
from and after the 7th day of october,1924, and that payment shall
r be made to C.'al. Roe, City Treasurer, who, for the convenience of
the public, will be at the First State Bank of Clermont each week:
day dubin7 the next thirty days between the hours of 9 O(clock
_ A.M. and 4 o' clock P.E.

Coi:ncil as the depository for all funds collected and same will be
deposited to the credit of the City of Clermont in a special fund
to be known and designated as"Special Improvement Fund No 2".

at a regulat meeting held on the 7th day of October, 1924, finally approved

and confirmed the special assessments set forth in the assessment roll pro -
pared by the City Clerk and Tax Assessor pursuant to the provisions of a certain
resolution adopted by the City Council on the 9th day -of September, 1924, as
revised, amended and correc#ed by said City Council at a regular adjourned
meeting held on the 16th day of SeptemWs 1924a,
AL1, PIMPERTY OWNERS AND OTHEij PERSONS INTERESTED are hereby further
notified Uat'said special assessments may be paid in full in cash, without

interest, at any time within thirty (30)idays from and after the 7th day of

October, 1924, and that payment shall be made to'C. 17. Roe, City Treasurer,
who, for the conveniencecf the public, will be at' the First State Bank of
Clermont each week day during the next thirty days between the hours of
9 o'clock A. M. and 4 o'clock P. M.
