07-21-1924 Regular MeetingMinutes of Regular Adjourned meeting of the City C until of the City of Clermont, July 21st,1924. Pursuant to call of the President of the Council, the City Council of the City of Clermont met at an adjourned regular meeting at the office of the City Clerk, that being; the usual meeting place of the Council. Presnet, Councilmen H.L. -douse, Prev,, D.J. westbrook, W- Bess, 5 ' and H.C. Frown. Absent, J.D. Jones. The minutes of the regul.ar adjourned meeting of July 9th were read and approved. A representative of Pierce, Butler & Pierce sub witted prices on pipe, fire hydrants and fittings for the extension of the municipal water system, as follows; 2560' 3640' 6 6 Class. 100- 4" Universal Pipe complete with Bolts 4 .7350 per ft. Class 100- 6" Universal pipe complete with bolts 0 1.06 per ft. 4"- 2 way trench Kennedy Hydrants Universal connections 48.80 ea. W Host Gate Valves with cap and chain 10.08 ea. 2 6" Iron Gate Valves Universal Connections 27.45 ea. 8 Universal Tees 4x 22 x 4 x 22 connections for W I pipe 10 PCs 22" x V Gal Pipe, threaded both ends W X 12.74 60 22" Gal Ells 6 22 X short gal Nipples 7 6" Universal Tecs .81 ea. @ .20 ea. @ 10.47 ea. Upon motion duly made and seconded it was decided to purchase the said pipe and other items, and the President of the Council was instructed to place An order for the same with Pierce, Butler I & Pierce. The Tax Assessor and City Clerk then presented to the Uouncil the As,essment roll of the paving assessments, as prepared by them, pursuant to the terms of a -certain resolution adopted on the 8th day of July. Upon motion'duly made and seconded bhe council decided to meet at regular session at the office of the City Clerk on Monday, August 4th, at 1.,30 P.M. for the purpose of hearing complaints with reference to paving assessments fixed in the assessment roll pre- pared by the City Clerk and Tax Assessor, pursuant to the provisions of,a certain resolution adopted on July 8th, 1924. Upon motion duly made and seconded the City Clerk was instruc ted to cause a copy of the said as:"sessment rol to be.published in the Clermont Press, a newpaper of general circulation published in the City of Clermont, once each week for two consecutive weeks in its issues of July 24th and 31st.. There being no further business, the Council adjourned to meet again upon the call of.the President. Attest; amity er Approved; Pres. Pursuant to call of the President of the Council, the City Council of the City of Clermont met at a regular adjourned meeting at the office of the City Clerk, that being the usual meeting place of the gouncil. Present; Councilmen H.L. House, Pres.; D.J. Westbrook, Wm Bess, and H.C. Brim. Absent; J.D. wones, The minutes of the regular adjourned meeting of, July 21st were read and approved. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the City -Treasurer was directed to pay to the Atlantic National Bank'of Jacksonville the st= of $1,000.00 on the note held by said bank. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following re- solutions were adopted: Whereas, it is necessary to pay, settle and discharge certain bills against the general fund, and Whereas, it is necessary to borrow dor said purpose the sum of Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars: Now, Therefore, be it resolved that the Mayor and President of the City Council be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to borrow the sum of Two Hundred($200.00) Dolla,r9- i, l , for and on behalf of the City and to evidence the sum so borrowed by a Certificate of Indebtedness of the City of:.t of Two Hundred ($200.00 ) Dollars, payable in 90 days aft thereof and bearing; interest at the rate of 8% per annum' from -•the date Uereof until. lq�d�,,,„ ,• a
