MINUTES OF RXGULAR ADJOURNED ACWING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CLERMONT, JULY 8th,1924, AT ONE OICLOCK P. M.
Pursuant to adjournment, the City Council of the City,of Clermont
Aim met in regular adjourned meeting at the office of the City Clerk, that
being the usual meetin place of the Council, on Tuesday, July 8th, at
one o'clock P. Me
E` I. Upon roll call the following person$ were found to be present:
1 Councilmen H. L. House, President: J. De Jones, He C. Brown, De Jo West-
brook Wme Bess; Mayor We He McKinney, City Clerk Edythe M. Litsrodt,
City Attorney Be We Wait, and City Engineer A. Pe Gibsone
The minutes of the regular meeting of Jply 1st were read and

Mr. Wme Bess intorduced an ordinance entitled "ORDINANCE NO.
which vas read in full the first time.
Upon motion of Mr. Bess, seconded by Mr. He C. Brown, it was
unanimously decided to suspend the rules and pass the said ordinance to its
second reading.

Thereupon the said ordinance was read in full for the second time.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the said ordinance, of which
the following is a copy, wad duly passed and adopted as read, by the unanimous
vote of the Council:

ORDINANCE NO. .
WHEREAS, the fractional Government Lot 1, of Section 240 Town-
ship 22 S, Range 25 El (being the E* of NE * of said section) lies wholly
within the corporate limits of the City of Clermont, but, with the
exception of Lots Nos. 1, 3 and 5 in Block 23, was not platted into streets
and late on the original plat of the Town of Clermont, Made by A. t.
Wrotnowski, C. 1''., in July, 1884, which has been adopted as the official
Plat of the City of Clermont, and is of record in the office of the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Lake County, in Plat Book 3, page 5, but vas
merely shown on said plat as the lands of "P. HUNT": and,
WHEREAS, Eugene Be Willey, deceased, the then owner of said
lands, or a major portion thereof, caused a plattbereof to be mad® by
C. Ii. Settle, C. E. , dated November 17, 1917, and to be recorded in
said Clerk's office in Plat Book 3, page 36, but did not file therewith
any dedication of the streets shown on said plat to the use of the public,
and did not actually open to the use of the public any of such streets,
except a part of the street shown thereon as '"Second Street": and,
WHEREAS, The present owners of said lands or the major portion
thereof now desire to have the -same replatted in a manner Which will be
beneficial to them, and nowise adverse to the interests of the public,
or any individual, and have exhibited to the City Council of the City
of Clermont a proposed map or plat of said lands, in lieu of said plat
made by C. Ho Settle, amde by A. Po Gibson, City Engineer, dated June 24,
1924, and intended to be forthwith recorded in sai$-Clarkao office, on
which said plat no change has been made in the location of said "Second
Street", and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Gouncil of the City of Clermont
that it is to the best interest of all parties concerned, that the* said
plat made by A. P. Gibson, City Engineer, should be adopted as the
official plat of so much of the lands embraced within the co.pporate limits
of the City of Clermont as is included therein:
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Enacted By The City Council Of The City
Of Clermont;
SECTIONI.
That the Map of "Sunset Heights, a subdivision of a part of the
NE 4 of Section 24, Twvp. 22 S, Range 25 E, Clermont, Lake County, Florida",
made by A. P. Gibson, City Engineer, dated June 24, 1924,li* and the same
i is hereby adopted as the official plat of the lands therein embraced, and
that the owners of said lands be, and they are hereby authorised and directed
forthwith to cause the same to be recorded in said Clerks office.
Section II.
That the said plat of "Sunset Heights" shall supersede the plat
made by C. H. Settle in all respects; and all assessments of the lands
therein embraced for the ovirposes of taxation by the City of Clermont shall
hereafter be made according to the "Map of Sunset heights".

Thereupon, on motion made by Councilman Wk. Bess, seconded by
Councilman J. D. Jones, the following resolution wee unanimously passed

PROPOSAL
FOR FURNISHING FIRE APPARATUS
BUILT BY
THE PROSPECT MANUFACTURING COMPANY,
PROSPECT, OHIO.
Prospect, Ohio, Julys 3, 1924.
To the Honorable City Council,
Clermont, Florida.
Gentlemen:
We, the prospect Manufacturing Company, Prospect, Ohio, hereby propose
to furnish, upon receipt of your acceptance of this proposition and signing and
execution of the accompanying contract, the following "DELUGE" Fire Apparatus;
to be built in accordance with the annexed specifications as regards equip-
ment, materials, finish, etc. 1 Model C Ford Fire Truck on pleasure Car
Chassis Equiped with 2-35 Deluge Chemical Tanks: Two Hose Reel, 300 ft,
of 3/4 inch red rubber chemical hose. 1 28 ft. extension ladder, 1 12 ft. roof
ladder with folded hooks: 1 12 ft. pike pole; 1 ax; 1 crowbar; ten fire
buckets and funnel: 1 electric smoke search light: 1 dash search light:
1 three gallon extinguisher: 1 gong: 1 sodaacid canister: 1 extra bottle
and holder and ca.nnister: two smoke masks; two lanterns; self starter; and
everything complete. For the sum of F.O.B. Clermont $1575,00, $506 cash,
$1,075.00 on or before one year at 60. int.
The same to be delivered on board cars or overland to Clermont, Fla.
Terms: $500 cash, $1075.00 on or before one year, 6f int. less 2% 30
days, payable 10 days after arrival and acceptance of Truck or Equipment.
Delivery: 40 days after reoeipt of signed acceptance or order, on
board car at factory.
This proposal void after days from date.

Upon motion duly made and seconded it was resolved to purchase
the equipment described in said proposal at the price and upon the terms
therein set forth.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was resolved that Fifth
Street, from Osceola Street to Lake Shore Drive, be temporarily closed,
pending repairs.
Mr. H. C. Brown submitted a proposed budget for the ensuing fiscal
year, but action thereon was deferred until a later meeting,
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting adjourned until
July 9th, at 7:30 o'olook P. M.
