07-09-1924 Regular MeetingMinutes of Regular Adjourned Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont, July 9th, 1924, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Pursuant to adjournment, the City Council of the City of Clermont met in regular adjourned meeting at the office of the pity Clerk, that being the usual meeting place of the Council, on Wednesday, July 9th, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Upon roll call the following persons were found to be present: Councilmen H. L .House, President, J. D. Jones, D. J. Westbrook, H. C. Brown, Wm. Bess, Mayor W. N McKinney, City Clerk Edythe M. Litzrodt, City Attorney Be W. Wait. The minutes of the regular adjournednt meeting of July Ath were read and approved. Representatives of the Worthington Pump and Engine Manufacturing Company and Fairbankd, Morse & Company were present, and submitted proposals to the city for the purchase of an oil burning engine and electric generator and certain other equipment. Upon discussion, it was decided to accept the proposal of Fairbanks, i Morse & Company. Thereupon, an ordinance, entitled: "An Ordinance Ratifying the i Execution of a Certain Lease Made by Fairbanks, More & Company to the City of Clermont, Florida". was introduced by Councilman J. D. Jones, and read in full for the first time. Thereupon, on motion of Councilman D. J. Westbrook, seconded by Councilman Wm. Bees, the rules were suspended and said ordinance was read in full for the second time. Thereupon, on motion duly make and seconded,ths said ordinance, of i which the following is a copy, was passed and adopted; w MW ORDINANCE NO. . An Ordinance Ratifying the Execution of a Certain Lease Made by Fairbanks, Morse & Company to the City of Clermont, Florida. BE IT'ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Clermut, Fla., that the execution by the officers of the City of Clermont, Fla., of lease dated July 9th, 1924, from Fairbanks, More & Company, of Chicago, Illinois, to the City of Clermont, Florida, be and the same is in all ro- spects ratified, adapted and approved, and the officers of the said City are further empowered and directed to execute such further papers and enter into such further agreements as may be necessary to fully carry out the r' full intent and meaning of said Lease wherein and whereby said City is to lease from the said Company, a certain engine and electrical equipment for electric light plant at a rental of Two Hundred Ninety Five and noA00 per month, for the term beginning Oct. 1st, 1924, and ending Sept. 30, 1927. Sec. 2. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage and approval, and upon its being advertised by posting copy at the door of the usual meeting place of the'city council for a period of 30 dayso H.
