Regulab meeting of the Clermont City Council called to order by Pres.
House. Roll call: present , H.L. .House, H.C. Brown, D.J., Westbrook,
K.E.E. MInson, F.H. Higby Minut.-•s of Dec.. 14th and 13th accepted as
read. Mayor Winstori administered oath of office to IN.N. MCKinney who
then administered oath of office to J.D. Jones, lkT. Bess, Clerk Edythe
Litzrodt and Frank Nettleton Tax Collector..
Motion was made by H.C. Brown, 2nd by D.J. Westbrook that H.L House
be elected Pres. of Council -.for coming year. Carried.
Pres. House appointed committees as follows:
Finance: Broom, Jones, House.
Street: 69estbrook,.Bess, Jones.
Park, School, Utilities: Jones, Westbrook, House
Rules, Ordinances: Bess, Brown, Jones.
Report of C.W. Roe, Treas. and E. Litzrodt Tax Collector.
Report of Mrs. Morrison as follows: due city for meters, $246.25
Pipe $44.20, Light $224.12, Water $164.19.
Report of D.L. Morrison:- five new cut ins, extension of Electric line
to Carlton Chestnut, moved wire from Denham Grove to new road. Engines
at Power Plant operating fairly well, Nordberg needs new Cylinders and
new pistons. i
Application for office of Marshall from C.E. nemberton, Geo 0 Beale,
and C.C. Lee read.
Motion by Brown, 2nd by Westbrook that no change be made at'present.
Carried.
Discussion of Light and power rate for Minneola to be decided later.
Application for City Attorney from B.W. Waite read. Mr Waites offer
was $300 per year, his duties being: render advice to Mayor and
Council upon andall questions, to prepare all Ordinances when requested,
to attend all Council Meetings and to represent City in trials before
Mayor when requested. To collect delinquent City Taxes adding 5%
as commission to be retained by him. Motion by Westbrook, 2nd by
Brown that we accept Mr. ?':'site's offer. Carried.
Motion by Bess , 2nd by Brown that we have the minutes of each meeting
and all business transacted by the Council, published in the Clermont
Press at special rate of 5� per line as agreed by Publisher Lochner.
Carried.
Motion by Brown, 2nd by Jones to have Clerk get blue print of water
system from McCreary Co. Carried.
Motion made and carried that all occupation taxes be paid within 10
days. Carried.
Motion made that a committee be made to investigate the different wells
of water suitable for city use, and report at next meeting. Committee
appointed, Brown, Jones, Bess.
Motion by Brown, 2nd by Westbrook that committee on Sanitation in-
vestigate matter of City Physician, with. power to apVoint. Carried.

Special Meeting.
The meeting was called to order by Pres. House -.-Roll call: present,
H.C. Brown, VIm Bess, D.J. estbrook.

Mr Giles read following resolution: Be it resolved that the Mayor
and Clerk are hereby authorized to renew the note of the City now
held by the Atlantic National Bank of Jacksonville in the sum of
$30,000 for a period not to exceed 90 days from this date.
Motion by Brown, 2nd by Nestbrook that resolution be adopted: Carried.
Ordinance to convert $26,000 assessment into Bonds read by Giles,
motion made to reread.
Moved by Brown, 2nd by Uestbrook that Ordinance be adopted.
Moved to adDourn.
Carried.
