of the City of Clermont, held on August 4th, 1924, at the
Office of the City Clerk of the City of Clermont.
The City Council of the City of Clermont met in regular adAOL

journed aession at the office of the City Clerk, that being the _
usual place of meeting, at 1:30 o'clock P.M.,,A�tgust 4th, 1924,
pursuant to motion passed at the regular meeting of the City Council
held on July 21st, 19240, and in further pursuance of the provisions
of the notice published in the Clermont Press, on July 24th and 319t, re -
sportively.
Upon roll call it was found that the following named council-
men and officers of the City of Clermont were present: H. L. House,
H. C. Brown, D. J. Westbrook and Wm. Boss. Councilmony Mayor W. N.
McKinney, City Clerk Edythe M. Litzodt, City Attorney Be W. Wait, and
Tax Assessor Iaam Blackburn.
Absent: Councilman J. D. Jones.
Thereupon Mr. H. L. House, President of the City Council,
caused to be read the notice published in the Clermont Press, above
referred to, pursuant to which said meeting was hold. Thereupon the
President announced that the Council would receive and hear complaints of
property owners, and all others interested with reference to the
assessments 916t forth in the assessment roll prepared by the City
Clark and Tax Assessor, pursuant.to the provisions of a certain
resolution passed by the City Council on the 8th day of July, 1924.
Mr. Be W. Wait stated that L. A. Lindell was the legal owner
of Lot No. 3 in Block No. 1, instead of A. Be Hammond, to whom said
lot was assessed, upon the assessment roll as prepared by the City
Clerk and Tax Assessor..
Thereupon, upon motion dauly made and seconded,
the Uity
• Clerk and Tax Assessor were instructed forthwith to
revise,
amend and
_
correct the assessment roll prepared by them pursuant to
the provisions
of the resolution adopted by them on the 8th day of
July,
19249 by
striking out the name of A. Be Hammond, to whom Lot
N. 3
in Block No. 1
was assessed, and substituting in place thereof the
name
of L. A. Lindell.
There being a further objections, and the
City
Clerk and Tax
Thereupon, upon motion duly ,spade and carried, the Council ad j ourned.:
to meet at. 3:00 .o'clock P, M. August 5th, 1924,

Assessor having made the correction, as provided in the motion last above

set forth, the following resolution was unanimously adopted upon roll call
vote:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR
CONSTRUCTING, GRADING, PAVING AND OTHERWISE IMPROVING CERTAIN
STREETS AND AVENUES WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT.
WHEELAS,'.The-City Council of the City of Clermont, on the 8th
day of July, 1924, duly passed and adopted a resolution providing for
constructing, grading, paving and otherwise improving certAin streets and
avenues within the corporate limits of the City of Clermont; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of the proposed
lAprovements and profiles of the streets and avenues therein described
in said resolution, were prepared by A. P. Gibson, City Engineer, and
were duly filed in the office of the City Clerk for public Inspection,
as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, said resolution providing for'eaid improvements was duly
published in a weekly newspaper published in the City of Clermont, as re-
quired by Chapter 9298, General Acts of the Legislature of the State of
Florida, for the session of 1923; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with said resolution the City Clerk and
Tax Assessor make and prepared an assessment roll in accordance with the
method of &see ssment provided for in said resolution, assessing all lots and
lands bounding and abutting on such proposed improvements between and in-
cluding the termin of such improvements on the streets and avenues de-
scribed in said resolution, and by said special assessments distributed upon
the several lots fronting and abutting on each of said streets and avenues.
to be improved and paved in proportion to the frontage thereon, the total
cost of said improvements to be borne by the property owners owning property
abutting and frontin upon the streets and avenues so to be improved as
aforesaid; and
WHEREAS, upon the completion of said special assessment roll, the
said City Clerk and Tax Assessor filed same in their offices, and caused
notice to be published as required by the provisions of Chapter 9298, Acts
of the Legislature above set forth, to the owner of each lot or parcel of
land to be specially assessed'in connection with said improvements, setting
forth the time and place where complaints might be heard before the,said
City Council sitting as an equalising board: and
WHEREAS, at the time and place stated in said notice to said
property owners, to -wit: on the 4th-day of August, 1924, at the office of
the City Clerk in the said City of Clermont, the City Gouncil met at
1:30 P. M. on said date to hear all complaints and objections as to said
assessments as aforesaid; and
WHEREAS, at said time and place the only objection made was to
insert the name of the legal canner of Lot No. 3 to Block No. 1, in place
of the name of A. Be Hammond, to whom said lot had been assessed; and
WHEREAS, the said City Council, suing as an equlixing board,
considered the said objection, and directed the said City Clerk and Tax
Assessor to revise, amend and correct the assessment roll prepared by
them in conformity with its action with reference to this objection; and
_ WHEREAS, the said City Clerk and Tax Assessor made the said
correction, and presented the corrected assessment roll to the City Council
for further consideration, in order that the assessments set forth in said
assessment roll as revised, amended and corrected might be finally approved
and confirmed by the said City Council sitting as an equalising board; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has this day examined the said assess-
ment roll and found that the same has been revised, amended and corrected
in the particular hersinbefore set forth:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE ITS RESOLVED, That the improvements on all of
the streets and avenues described and set forth in said assessment roll as
revised, amended and corrected, eh¢11 proceed in accordance with the pro-
visions of the resolution passed by the City Council of the City of Cler-
mont on the 8th day of July, 1924, and the plans and specifications cover-
ing said proposed improvements of said streets and avenues now on file in the
office of the City Clerk, and that the said special assessments heretofore
made by the City Clerk and Tax Assessor as set forth in the assessment roll
prepared by them as revised, amended and corrected against all lots and
lands bounding and abutting upon the streets and avenues. aforesaid now pvo-
posed to be improved in the manner aforesaid be, ed the -same are hereby
equalised, approved and confirmed by the City douncil of the City of Cler-
mont, and from this date shall be and remain legal, valid and binding
liens upon the property against which said assessments as made® until paid;
and
.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the said special-assessmente hereby
levied, imposed and assessed against all property abutting and fronting upon
the * streets and avenues to be improved as aforesaid, shall be payable in
the manner prescribed and set forth in the resolution heretofore adopted
by the City Council of The City of Clermont on the 8th day of My, 1924.
The vote upon roll call resulted as follows;
Ayes: Councilmen House, Brawn, Westbrook and Bess.
Nayes: None.
Thereupon, upon motion dilly made and seconded, the City Clerk
was directed to notify the property owners and all other preens interested,
that the special assessments set forth in the assessment roll prepared by
the City Clerk and Tax Assessor, pursuant to the provisions of a certain °
resolution adopted by the City Council on the 8th day of July, 1924,
as revised, amended and corrected by said City Clerk and Tax Assessor at
the instruction of the City Council, have been finally approved and
confirmed by the City Council on this date; and that said kersons be
further notified that said special assessments may be paid in full in case
without interest at anytime within thirty days facm and after this date;
that payment shall be made to C. W. Roe, City Treasurer; that the First
State Bank of Clermont be designated by the City Council as the depository
for all funds -collected, and that all funds so collected shall be deposited
in said bank to the credit of the City of Clermont, in a special fund to
be known and designated as "Special Improvement Fund No. l"e
Thereupon, upon motion duly made and seconded, the said City
Council adopted the following form of notice, and ordered same to be _
published by the City Clerk in the Clermont Press, once each week for
three successive weeks, beginning August Ith, 1924:
NOTICE OF LEVYING OF PAVING ASSESSEWTS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Clermont
at a regular adjourned meeting held on the 4th day of August, 1924, finall-

approved and confirmed the special assessments set forth in the assessment
roll prepared by the City Clerk and Tax Assessor pursuant to the provisions
of a certain resolution adopted by the City Council on the 8th day of July,
1924,.as revised, amended and corrected by said City Council at a regular
® adjourned meeting held on the 4th day of August, 1924.
® ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AND OTHER PERSONS INTERESTED are hereby further
notified that said special assessments may be paid in full in cash, without
interest, at*any time within thirty (30) days from and after the 4th day of
August, 1924, and that payments shall be made to C. W. Roe, City Treasurer,
who, for the convenience of the public, will be at the First State Bank of
Clermont each week day during the next thirty days between the hours of 9 and
4 P. M.
The Firs State Bank of Clermont has been named by the City Council
as the depository for all funds collected and same will be deposited to the credit
of the City of Clermont in a'special fund to be known and designated as
"Special Improvement Fund No. 1".
DONE by order of the City Council of the City of Clermont, this
4th day of August, A. D. 1924.

Thereupon, Mr. A. P. Gibson, City Engineer, announced that the total
estimated cost of the proposed street improvements in the City of Clermont,
will'amount to Fifty-three Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty-eight and 16/100 Dollars
($53,968.16), the amount authorised pursuant to the provisions of the resolution
passed by the City Council on the 8th day of July, by said engineer in the
office of the City Clerk.
There being no'further business, the meeting, upon motion duly made
and seconded, adjourned.
