Oounoil of theOity of Olerm nt, Held February25rd,
1925, at eight o'clock P. M.
The Oi ty Oouncil of the Oi ty of Ole rli.lont met in I'legular
adjourned meeting B,t the offioe of the Okl~ of the Oity of
Olermont, that beins the usual meeting place of said Oity Ooun-
cil, on February 25th, 1925, at eight o'clock P. U.
Present:
Oouncilmen H. O. Brown, Presi~ent of the Oouncil, Wrn. Bess,
lsam Blackbutn and O.E . Tabo:t ; VI. N . McKinney, Nayor; B. Vi.
We..it, Oity Attorney; and Miss Stella Thompson, Oity Olerk.
Absent; Oouncilman Andy Aasheim.
Mr. H. O. Brown called the meeting to order and presided
over the s"me.
The President of the Oouncil then stated that the meet-
ing WB.S ca.l1ed for t~le purpose of entertaining the proposal
from the Florida Public Service Cc,mpany for the purchase of
the municipal electric light plant and distribution syste~
liie'ssrs. ~est, the Generai Manager, and Ooi t, the local manager
of said oou.~any,stated the gener~l terms u~)on ~hibh the co.~any
~ould be willing to purohase the plan~ and explained the rates
~t ~hich eleotric current would be furnished to the Oity and
also to citizensof this community for light, po~er ~n~ heeting

After considers.ble 0 iscussicn, said compa.ny offered to
purohaGe the ~ntire nlunicipe,l plant and disttibuti.')n system
ct nnd for the surr;, of $20,771.00, and. agreed to e.SSU!1'le .the
payment of the balance due tee Fairbanks-Morse Oo~~,any on the
new engine and equipment.
?After further discussion it w~s, on motion dm1y made
end seconded, resolved tha,t the Oouncil w,s in favor of accept-
ing tmis offer b~t felt that in a matter of such magnitude
it should be first presented to th.:' b'J.sineEe men and citizens
of this Oity and that a mass meeting be celled for ti.1at pur-

On m~tion duly made and seconded, the meeting adjourned
to meet: again upon the call of the President.
