MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE crrv COU~IL.
'CITY OF CLERMONT, Held APijIL 29, 1925. at '80'clock.
'Meeting called to order by president,H.c Brown Roll Call by Clerk
Present: Andy Aasheim, C.E,Tabor, Wm.Bess and Isam Blackburn.
Mr. Mooty,of The Florida Public Service Company was present aDd
asked permission to trim trees on lOth Street between DeSoto aDd
Chestnut, Upon motion his request was granted. Further he asked
the council to state their pleasure concerning the change in
Whito Way system and stated that he would like to have a written
order concerning same. The following is copy of letter given .:

Pleas. arrange, to change our street lighting to a
regular White-Way on 4 Blocks of the City Stree's on the basis
of our present cont~act.

owners on Montrose Street; to have Said street widened 4 ft. OD_-
each side from' 7th to 8th Street. r-.
A pption to widen 8th St.trom Minneola Ave. to Lake Shore Dri~~,
from 24tt.to 44ft was presented.
and 1s& a petition to widen Desoto st. from 7th st. to West Ave.
from 24 ft to 44 ft.
As they all appeared to'have been signed by a majority of property
ownors on said streets ,Upon MotiQn ma~: and soconded the
Petitions were ~pproved and tho City Engineor au~horized to prepare
Bstimates for same.

Gentlemen:-
I
; In order to enable you to effect an unconditional and legal
sale of all of your street Improvement Bond s to be issued during the year
1925, said Dond s to bear interest at the rate of 6~,payable semi-annually
both principal' and interest to be payable at some bank in the City of New
York,N.Y. and to be issued in denominations of ~lOOO.OOmaturing in ~lb-
stantially ten equal annual payments,we submit the following proposal:-
We will place at your disposal the services of our leg~ll1~fJ~-
connection with preparation,exanlination and approval of all proceedings ,
required by law leading up to the legal issuance of said bonds.
We will prepare or cause; to be prepared,a descriptive pamphlet
of the Town of Clermont, setting forth it's advantages,resources etc.,present,
and expected,which pamphlet will include certified ~rrH~X financial statement
of the Town,a copy of the notice of sale of said bonds,a copy of bid fo~ for
said bonds; said bid form will require; all bidders to deposit wit!. their bid$
a certified check for at least 2% of the face value of bond s b,id for.
We also agree to advertise at our expense notice of sale of said bonds in
some leading financial 'publication and to otherwise use our best ,efforts to
secure for you an unconditional bid for said bonds on day of sale of not
les's than par.
We alSo agree to secure and pay for the approving opinion of
Messrs.Caldwell & Raymond,Attorneys of New York,N.Y. as to the legality of
said bonds and agree to furnish on day of sale the preliminary legal opinion
of said attorneys so that unconditional bid s may be called for,thus enabling
you to secure immediate acceptance of and payment for said bond s by the
purchaser thereof.
We also agree to furnish on day of sale or sales,or shortly thereafter
the necessary blank bonds ready for signature of the proper Officials.
We further agree to file or cause to be filed on day of sale a
bona-fide legal bid for said bonds of not less that 100% of the face value
of said bonds,plus accrued interest from dateof bonds to date of delivery to
purchaser.
In consideration of our services and guaranteed bid as above outlined,
the council,by acceptance of this proposal hereby agrees to pay us,when and
as said bonds are taken up and paid for by the purchaser,a sum equal to two-
, and one half (2-t> percent of the face value of each of samd bond s;-i t being,
however,expressly un~~~9od and agreed that should you fail to receive a
bona-fide legal bidi'lfor'!aid bond s on day of sale we are to forfeit all of
~a.id fee and thi s contract immediately thereupon becomes mill and void.
