Brown, Roll Call: P~esent C. E. Tabor,Wm. Bess, Isam Blackburn and Andy AAsheim councilmen. E. W. Wait fIity Atty. and Stella Thopmson,Clel"k. president of Council stated that the purnose of called meeting was to as.certain the cause of delay in tFfti sending the transcl"ipt of. the $47,000.00 Bond Issue to Raymond &; C~.ldwe11 I' 01" their app1"ova1 and asked the City Atty. to give his expl~.nation of same. In reply Mr. W4~t stated that the fault was primarily his as office duties and sickness at home had kept him f1"orn ~i"iring the prompt attention he had been able to Rive the other Issues, but that he hoped to get Bond -#1 off to Raymond ,~ Caldwell in a. couple of days. . told Mr. T. J. Cox, paving ContractoD, then b~i~t t~ the Council that this unnecessary delay worked a hardship on him as he is having to bonnow the money to carryon the City work and he did not feel disposed to overlook caroless delays and furthermore Wright & 'l'a1"10w of Orlando, :!:lRd told him that "they were vvillinr.: to sond a mab to assist Mr. Wait so that there need be no monger delay. "., Mr. Wm. Bess made a motion that the offer of Wright & Warlow be accepted and that the Pres. notify them at once. Motion 2nd. Carried Mr. Bess further sugsested that hereafter any delay in the work on Bond Issues be reported by the Atty. to the Pres. Of The Council. This suggestion met with the approval of ~,ll the membe1"s of the council. Pres. Brown brought up the question of the failure of delivery of tele~"am t~om Atlantic N8tional Bank, Jacksonville to First state Bank, Clermont on June 6th in time for state B~nk to enter a seR1ed bid on the $222,000.00 bonds for $221,705.20. He asked Mr. Wait to explain the circumstances in full to the Councilmen after which he wanted their opinions as tb the advisability of slling Western Union. Mr. Wait gave the details 9,nd in closing stated that to hid notion the City has a clear cut c~se ag~inst the WIU, After discussion Isam Blackburn Maije a motion that the City Atty. be requested to bring suit against The.Western Unioe.
