CITY OF CLERMONI'
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT THE CITY HALL, TUESDAY, AUGUST v., 1945, at
7:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Vice President
H. C. Brown, other Councilmen present being C. W. Gaines,
and R. M. Stackhouse. Mayor F. H. Higby, City Attorney
~rving F. Morse, City Clerk W. H. Mcquistion, Chief of
Police C. E. Sullins and Wator Supt. H. M. Cole were also
present.
A motion was made by Mr. Gaines, seconded by
Mr. Stackhous e, to a ccept lis t of lots as corrected as
shown on list. Also, lots as shown on list to be sub-
mitted to Council Where price has been raised to $50.00.
The motion carried.
The reports of the Mayor, Chief of Police and Water
Superintendent were read and accept; ed.
A motion was made by Mr. Stackhouse, seconded by
. Mr. Gaines, that the, Ci tY Attomey prepare a Resolution
to present to Army of ficials f or damages to City of Junia ta
Street. The motion carried.
A moti on was !ll3.. de by Mr. Stackhouse, seconded by
Mr. Gaines, that a Resolution be prepared by Mr. Brown to
send to the paper and one to the widow of Dr. Coleman, de-
ceased. The moti on carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Gaines, seconded by Mr.
Stackhouse, that a donation of twenty-five dollars be
donated to the Cooper Memorial Library. Tne motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Stackhouse, seconded by
Mr. Gaine.s, that tJ-:e Mayor write all businessmen in the
section of Montrose from Seventh to Eighth Streets to call
yheir attention to all day parking, asking them to eliminate
this in order to ba va more space for other people. The
motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Stackhouse, seconded by
Mr. Gaines, that Albia Sheldon be instmcted to paint the
fire truck at his stggestion, same to be hald as near as
possible to actual cost. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Stackhouse, seconded by
Mr. Gaines, that the city Clerk be authorized to transfer
up to $3000.00,if,needed, to'the General Fund from the
I"., terest and Sinking Fund. The moti on carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Stackhouse, seconded by
Mr. Gaines, to have City Clerk purchase an electric fan
for the City Hall. The mot ion carried.
Mr. Gaines then introduced an Ordinance entitled
"AN ORDINAN CE TC' AMEND SECTIONS 35,36,37 and sa OF CP..APTER
VIII O!:" fT1HE REVISED rtENERAL ORlI NA NCES OF THE CITY' OF
CLERMOlTT, LAKE GOTTNTY, FLORIDA, AS PASSED THE CITY CGJNCIL
OF THE CITY CF CLERM ONT ON JUNE 6, 1928" which was read
in full. Mr. Gaines moven the adoption of the Ordinance,
which was seconded by l'ilr. Stackhouse, and when put to a

Absent - Roe, Castner. So the Ordimnce passed, title as
stated, and was ordered recorded in the Ordinance Book and

A motion was made by Mr. Gaines, seconded by lVl~.
Stackhouse, that the City Attorney bo authorized to redeem

Sun set Park, City of clermont. The mati on carried.

Hr. Gaines, to aecept the City Assessor's tax roll as
ame nded. The mot ion carried.
