A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING UTILITY DEPOSIT
AMOUNTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Ciry of Clermont adopted the current
Utility Deposit amounts by Resolution No. 898 dated February 13, 1996, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 239-C of the Clermont Code of Ordinances establishes
the methods for adoption of a schedule of utility deposits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
• Clermont that the Utility Deposit amounts will be amended as follows:
SECTION 1.
A Utility Deposit shall be required for all renters of buildings used for
residential, commercial, industrial or other purposes applying for City of Clermont
utility services and all temporary users of water services where the water meter is
returned to the Ciry. All deposits shall be evidenced by non-transferable receipts
issued by the City in the name of the prospective consumer applying for services. A
refund shall be contingent upon adequate identification and surrender of deposit
receipt.
All deposits shall be held by the Ciry until fmal settlement of the consumer's
account and any unused balance will be refunded.
SECTION 2.
The Deposit amount shall be equal to two and one-half (2.5) times the estimated
average monthly bill. In the event of a temporary user, the deposit amount shall be
equal to the cost of the installed water meter.
• This amended Utility deposit shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
