R-96-898 . . , e e CITY OF CLERMONT RESOLUTION No. 898 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING UTILITY DEPOSIT AMOUNTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont adopted the current Utility Deposit amounts by Resolution No. 726 dated September 19, 1991, and WHEREAS, Ordinance 239-C of the Clermont Code of Ordinances establishes the methods for adoption of a schedule of utility deposits; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont that the Utility Deposit amounts will be amended as follows: SECTION 1. A Utility Deposit shall be required for all renters of buildings used for residential, commercial, industrial or other purposes applying for City of Clermont utility services. All deposits shall be evidenced by non-transferable receipts issued by the City in the name of the prospective consumer applying for services. A refund shall be contingent upon adequate identification and surrender of deposit receipt. All deposits shall be held by the City until final settlement of the consumer's account and any unused balance will be refunded. SECTION 2. The Deposit amount shall be equal to two and one-half (2.5) times the estimated average monthly bill.
