WHEREAS, hospice staff and volunteers provide a special kind of caring for
those in our community who are terminally ill; and
WIiEREAS, the country's 2,000 hospices helped to meet the medical,
emotional and spiritual needs of more than 275,000 terminally ill adults and children
last year alone; and
WHEREAS, Hospice of Lake & Sumter celebrates its 10th anniversary in
November; and
VVf~REAS, Hospice of Lake & Sumter has provided its services to more than
5,000 patients and their families since its founding; and
WHEREAS, an increase in public awareness and understanding of hospice care
will better serve the families of our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Clermont
recognizes Hospice of Lake & Sumter for the special care they provide and join in
observing the month of November as

We actively encourage the support and participation of friends, neighbors, colleagues,
and fellow citizens in hospice activities and programs now and throughout the coming
year.
