SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WALTER AND DOROTHY MCGRIFF FAMILY REUNION
It gives me a great deal of pleasure to express to all the
members of the Walter and Dorothy McGriff Family, on behalf of the
City Council our sincere congratulations on your McGriff Family
Reunion.
Dorothy Cook was born in Clermont and became the wife of
Walter McGriff in 1946 and this marriage was blessed with eight
children, all born, raised and educated in Clermont where six of
them still reside. Two of these children are teachers, four sons
are in law enforcement, one child works at NCNB Bank and one has
worked at Kodak in Rochester, New York for the past twenty years.
The family is also blessed with twenty grandchildren and one great
grandchild.
Mr. McGriff is retired from working for the Lake County School
Board and Mrs. McGriff is the Director of the Clermont Head Start
Program. The entire family participates in church and community
affairs.
I am pleased to publicly commend the McGriff Family on this
happy occasion, and to extend to all who are present here from
Florida, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Connecticut, Georgia,
Washington, D.C., California and Pennsylvania a warm welcome to our
community and our sincere congratulations and best wishes.
