Private Property Week•
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, of aZZ the rights we have, one of the most precious
is the right to acquire real property and to own it, use it or transfer
it as we see fit, without interference, as Zong as we do not infringe
on the rights of others.
WHEREAS, the right to private ownership of real property has
generated other fundamental American liberties, including the free
enterprise system and political freedom-principle that have built this
nation into the world's greatest.
WHEREAS, in many countries wh¢re citizens are denied the right
to own real estate, they are also denied such rights as free speech,
peaceful assembly, and voting for the candidates of their choice;
priveZeges that Americans often take for granted.

WHEREAS, in order that property owners may exercise these
rights while maintaining and preserving them in the future, it is necessary
for aZZ of us to understand and protect our rights to own real property,
now .
WHEREAS, to fill this need, the Lake County Board of Realtors,
together with reaZtors and reaZtor-associates throughout the country,
are observing Private Property Week, a tradition established in 2956 to
mark the celebration of private property ownership and the protection
of the rights that attend this ownership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I, James M. Hoskinson, Mayor of
the City of Clermont, Florida, do hereby proclaim April Z9 through
April 25 to be "Private Property Week."
I encourage aZZ the residents of the City of Clermont to join the Lake
County Board of Realtors and aZZ the members of the National Association
of Realtors who are setting aside this special time to remind us aZZ that
we are a free people with the right to own real property and the obligation
to protect that right.
