CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, libraries of all types are united in
their efforts to provide residents with invaluable resources;
WHEREAS, the informational services rendered by
the public, school, academic, and special libraries contribute
to the growth and development of Florida on the state and local
level;
W1iEREAS, libraries are working together to develop
and expand their role as cultural, civic, and educational centers
for the community;
WHEREAS, a vast storehouse of print and audio media
constitutes the informational and entertainment resources offered
to all persons by libraries;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Claude E. Smoak,Jr., Mayor of
the City of Clermont, Florida, by virtue of the authority vested
in me, do hereby Proclaim the week of April 17 - 23, 1977 as
NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK IN CLERMONT
and recognizes the library's rich treasures offered to residents
of Clermont on a year round basis.
