~VhereGis, the month of October, 2008 has been designated as ITALIAN
CULTURE AND HERITAGE MONTH; and
1~Vhereas, this observance affords the special opportunity to become more
knowledgeable about Italian heritage, and to honor the many Italian leaders who
have contributed to the progress of our nation as well as our community; and
1Whereas, such knowledge can strengthen the insight of all citizens regarding
the issues of human rights, the great strides made in the crusade to eliminate the
barriers of equality for minority groups, and the continuing stntggle against
discrimination and poverty.
Naw, wherefore, de tt R,eSOCved~that I, Harold S. Turville, Jr.,
by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Clermont, do hereby
proclaim the month of October, 2008 to be
ITALIAN CUL TURF AND HERITAGE MONTH
in our community, expressing special commendation to the committee and dedicated
volunteers who have labored so diligently to make this observance a reality in our
City, and
,further, I urge all residents of the City of Clermont to make special note of
the various exhibits displayed in public buildings, to assist and encourage scheduled
activities, and to join together in making this a period of rededication to the
principles of justice and equality for all people.
