75th Anniversary DayCity of Clermont
WI~~REAS, The Charter for the Order of the Eastern Star, Clermont
Chapter No. 118 was granted on April 22, 1921 at the seventeenth annual Grand
Chapter Session, and
WHEREAS, thirty five of the applicants for charter membership assumed the
obligation of the Order with Florence Winston being the first Worthy Matron, and
WIiEREAS, in May of 1994 Groveland Chapter No. 165 surrendered their
charter and consolidated with Clermont Chapter No. 118, and
WHEREAS, Clermont Chapter meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays in the
Clermont Masonic Temple and currently has 112 members, and
WHEREAS, we gratefully acknowledge the influence for good accomplished
by these, our neighbors, who have contributed so much in the way of leadership and
personal service to the community these past 75 years;
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Robert A. Pool, as Mayor
of the City of Clermont, do hereby proclaim April 28, 1996 to be
Clermont Chapter No. l18 Order of the Eastern Star
