National Family Literacy DayP~t~oclamation c~~ og c.~~~oa~r N,~L~ON.~LL ,~,~II.C1~ LI~ER.~lC1~ D.~11~ 1'V~1,e1'eGiS, as many as 4.4 million adults in this country cannot read at level necessary to succeed in today's society and 1'VhereQS, families, neighbors and volunteers in these United States must unite in promoting literary and help those with significant literary needs learn to read and gain independence by becoming literate, and ~'Vhe1'eUS, when individuals learn to read they enable themselves and their families to gain self respect and confidence, and to reach life goals, and 1~V6iereas, the tireless efforts of the DAR members of the Tomoka Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are contributing to the success of literary programs, and "YV(~iereas, the task will not be completed until all who have significant literary needs are given opportunity to learn to read the literary challenge must be promoted and to do this we observe National Family Literary Day November I, 2005. • Naw, `I ~erefOre, I, Harold S. Turville, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida do hereby proclaim the day of November I, 2005 as NATIONAL FAMILY LrTERACY DAY and encourage our citizens to help promote literary by volunteering to help those with the desire and need to learn to read.
