RESOLUTION
NO. 1590
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AND
SUPPORTING REGIONALLY SIGNIFICANT ROADS WITHIN THE
CITY OF CLERMONT AND THE LAKE COUNTY JOINT PLANNING
AREA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida recognizes
the need to adopt and support regionally significant roads within the City of Clermont and the
Lake County Joint Planning Area (JPA);
WHEREAS, the Lake Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) approves a
List of Regionally Significant County Road Needs;
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont desires to update this list with an adopted list of City
recognized regionally significant roads;
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont believes these roads should be a priority for Lake
County, the MPO and the City of Clermont for any study, engineering and widening projects to
increase capacity, and improve the Level of Service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Clermont, Lake County, Florida that the following list of roads is hereby recognized by the City
of Clermont as being regionally significant and support the inclusion of these roads within the
MPO's List of Regionally Significant County Road Needs:
1. Hooks St. Phase 4/Grand Highway -Hooks St. from US 27 east to connect to
existing and Grand Hwy. from SR. 50 to Hooks St.
2. Hooks St. Phase 5 -Hooks St. from Hancock Rd. to Jahna Rd.
3. Hooks St. Phase 6/Hartle Rd. -Hooks St. from Jahna Rd. to Hartle Rd. and Hartle Rd.
from Hooks St. to SR. 50
4. Johns Lake Rd. Phase 1 -Widen, add turn lanes, add bike lanes from Hancock Rd. to
Lost Lake Elementary School
5. Hartle Rd. Phase 2 -Hartle Rd. from Hooks St. to Johns Lake Rd.
6. Johns Lake Rd. Phase 2 -Improve include widen, add turn lanes, add bike lanes from
Hancock Rd. to Hartle Rd.
7. Hartle Road Phase 3 -Hartle Road from Johns Lake Rd. to Hartwood Marsh Rd.

NOTE: Priorities 2 and 3 are included in the 2008-2012 Program as one project called
Hooks Street Extension. This project is separated into two projects since it is doubtful
that the entire project can be built at one time and the two sections could have different
priority status in relationship to other future projects.
Priorities 4 and 6 are new projects whose priority may change in relationship to priorities
5 and 7 as traffic patterns continue to evolve as other projects are completed.
