RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
ENTRY INTO AN URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY
GRANT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE
OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND
CONSUMER SERVICES, DIVISION OF FORESTRY.
WHEREAS, many public and private areas within the
jurisdiction of this governmental body are in need of
sound tree care and maintenance and must be improved and
maintained as Urban and Community Forests, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont
desires to improve various areas within the City of
Clermont by adopting and promoting proper Urban and
Community Forestry Practices; and
WHEREAS, appropriate and beneficial tree maintenance
and management would be enhanced through utilization of
specialized forestry equipment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont
wish to authorize entry into an Urban and Community
Forestry Grant Memorandum of Agreement between the City
of Clermont and the Florida Division of Forestry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council
of the City of Clermont, Florida:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Clermont
hereby authorizes entry into an Urban and Community
Forestry Grant Memorandum of Agreement between the City
of Clermont, Florida, and the State of Florida Department
of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of
Forestry.
Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Clermont
is hereby directed to send copies of this Resolution to
the Division of Forestry and all other persons as
directed by the Mayor and City Council.
