A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE SOUTH
LAKE COUNTY CITIZENS ADVISORY COUNCIL COMMITTEE IN
THEIR EFFORTS TO MARE THE CONSOLIDATED HIGH SCHOOL
FOR SOUTH LAKE COUNTY A REALITY BY THE 1991-1992
SCHOOL YEAR, AND ENCOURAGING OTHER CITIES, PRIVATE
CITIZENS AND THE LAKE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD TO DO THE
SAME .
WHEREAS, the citizens of South Lake County have established
their desire, by a 1986 straw vote, for the formation and
construction of a consolidated High School in South Lake County to
improve the curriculum offerings and educational facilities
available to all South Lake County students; and
WHEREAS, the South Lake County Citizens Advisory Council
Committee has banded together to urge the Lake County School Board
to formally adopt, by vote, the Comprehensive Consolidated High
School for South Lake County as their number one facility
construction priority; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County School Board has the necessary
funding to purchase the land for such a Consolidated High School,
thus making it possible to secure the land and acknowledge the
funding for the land purchase; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont supports the Consolidated High
School concept, and is desirous to have the Lake County School
Board immediately develop a f financial plan for the construction of
the facility and. publish a project timetable for the design and
construction of the facility to be made available to the citizens
of South Lake County; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont supports the
opening of a Consolidated South Lake County High School for the
start of the 1991-1992 school year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, that the City Council
supports the construction and operation of a Consolidated South
Lake County High School, and encourages the South Lake County
Citizens Advisory Council Committee to continue in their efforts
to see this project to fruition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Clermont requests that the Lake County School Board utilize the
money budgeted for the purchase of land for the Consolidated High
School in South Lake County, and determine viable funding methods

to provide the necessary funds for the construction of a
Consolidated High School for South Lake County, to open by the
1991-1992 school year, and encourage private citizens and other
City Councils to request the same.
