" ~ :~~'_I, ¡'ill ,~;.;;:, r ·t 'II"': Ji Ii, );0': ,~1' !it, ' 'i,.,/ 'i~ ,~;,; ;~:'" .1':. o\I¡:f,:':', " -,:'\'" ~'i~' ~í¡' ~f.j,; ~j : ,~:,\,-'t g RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont did, dur1as the year of 1943, realize the need for additional recreat10nall facilities in the City of Clermont for it's residents, tourists, and those members or the Armed Forces stationed in and near Clermollt. and did acquire from the Citizens Bank of Clermont the North FiftT Feet (60 f) of Lots 2, 4, and ~' of Block 91 of the City of Clermont, and did apply to the War Production Board for authority to erect a building of concrete block construction to house five Bowling Alle,. which the said City of Clermont did purchase from one D. M. Bryant of New Smyrna Beach, Florida (title to said Bowling Alleys being taken on authority of the said City in the name of H, K. Stokes, trustee); and, WHEREAS. the City Council of the City of Clermont did later realize that the purchase of the said Bowling Alleys, equip- ment, property, and the erection of said building would involve more money than the City could afford'to expend, and did authorize Mr. C. W. Gaines, a member of the City Council, to ascertain if he could interest residents of the City of Clermont sUfficiently in this project that they contribute of their time and money; and, vVHEREAS~,certain residents of the City of Clermont have contributed sufficient monies to repay the City of Clermont for all monies which the City has expended in the purchase of the property, Bowling Alleys, equipment, and the erection of the concrete block building and said individuals having incorporated themselves under the name of Clermont Bowlers, Inc. and have heretofore expressed a desire to the City of Clermont to take over the entire project as of November 1, 1943 and to operate it for the benefit of the residents, tourists and members of the Armed Forces and to repay those who have contributed of their monies in support of this project; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that in accordance with the verbal agreement of C. W. Stokes, trustee, and do relinquish all right, title, and interest in same as of November 1, 1943, the date on which Clermont Bow~ers, Inc. did take over the project from the City of Clermont.
