Change Order for Additional Work
The City offered for bid the project of directional drilling several sections of the reclaimed
water main under Hooks Street and Excaliber. The successful bidder was Young's
Communication for $48,500.00.
While the City's construction crews were constructing the remainder of the line, they
discovered a stormwater pipe owned by Lake County that was not located during the original
pipeline design. The City requested a change order from Young's Communication to
direction drill an additional 295 feet of pipe. The price for the 12 -inch pipe, plus the 2 -inch
conduit for the fiber optic cable, was $15,045 00. The new contract price will be $63,545.00.
I recommend approval of the change order from Young's, Communication Company for
$15,045.00 to continue to construction of the reclaimed water main along Hooks Street.
