AN ORDINANCE FOREVER ABANDONING, ABOLISHING, CLOSING
AND VACATING FRACTIONAL PART OF BROOME STREET LYING
WEST OF LINTON COURT AND EAST OF TWELFTH STREET, AS
REPRESENTED ON. THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING THAT ALL LANDS LYING
WITHIN SAID FRACTIONAL BROOME STREET SHALL REVERT IN
FEE SIMPLE TO AND BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE OWNERS
OF THE ADJACENT LANDS THERETO; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS
RELATING THERETO; AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, a street known as Broome Street extend:ing West
from L:inton Court and East from Twelfth Street was established and
dedicated by and under ,.the Official Map of the City of Clermont, filed
2/4/26 and recorded :in Plat Book 8, pages 17 to 23, :inclusive, Public
Records of Lake Co~ty, Florida; and,
WHEREAS; since the establishment and dedication of said
street the State of Florida, by and through the State Road Department,
has constructed State Road 50 which crosses said Broome Street :in a
Northwesterly and Southeasterly direction West of L:inton Court and
East of Twelfth Street, and thereby have closed said fractional Broome
Street by omitting and denying approaches from Broome Street to State
Road 50; and, therefore, said fractional Broome Street has no/appre-
ciable purpose for the City and is not needed; and, '
WHEREAS, said fractional Broome Street is in a very poor
state of repair and its repair would cause an expenses to the City with
no substantial benefit to the public; and,
WHEREAS, there are no municipal, private or quasi-public
sewers, water or other utility l:ines established :in or upon the right-
of-way of said fractional Broome Street; and,
WHEREAS, the best :interests of the City would be served by
the abolish:ing, abandon:ing, vacating and clos:ing of said fractional
Broome Street; now, therefor,

BE IT ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY,
FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That fractional Broome Street ly:ing West of L:in-
ton Court and East of Twelfth Street, as represent7<l on the Official
Map of the City of Clermont, filed 2/4/26 and recorded :in Plat Book
8, pages 17 to 23, :inclusive, Public Records of Lake County, Florida,

LESS and EXCEPT fractional part of Broome Street lying with:in the
right-of-way of State Road 50 and ly:ing West of State Road 50, be, and
the same is hereby, forever abandoned, abolished, closed and vacated.
and, that all lands ly:ing with:in said fractional Broome Street shall'
revert in fee simple and in equal proportions to the owners of the

real property lying adjacent and abutting thereto.
SECTION II. That a copy of the Resolution adopted by the

City Council of this City on January 19, 1960, Proof of Publication of
Notice, as published :in the Clermont Press, a newspaper of general
çirculation, published in the City of Clermont, on January 28 and
February 4, 1960, and this Ord:inance, duly certified by the City
Clerk, shall be recorded :in the Public Records of Lake County, Florida,
and when so recorded will, :in all intents and purposes, operate as a
conveyance :in fee simple of the lands with:in said area of fractional
Broome Street as more particularly above described.
SECTION III. That the City Council of the City of Clermont
finds it necessary to declare the passage of this Ord:inance to be an
emergency measure, and, therefore, same shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
