AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 TO 7, INCLUSIVE, OF
CHAffER VII OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT, PROVIDING FOR SALARIES OF OFFICERS;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND
OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO; PROVIDING THIS ORDIN-
ANCE TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE.
BE IT ORDAINED AND EST ABUSHED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA:
SECTION I: That Sections 1 to 7, inclusive, of Chapter VII
of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Clermont, Providing
Salaries of Officers be amended in its entirety to read as follows:
CHAffER VII.
COMPENSATION OR SALARIES OF OFFICERS.
Section 1. The Clerk and Tax Collector shall receive such
compensation or salary as the Council may provide by motion or reso-
lution for services of the two offices combined.
Section 2. The Tax Assessor shall receive such compensation
or salary as the Council may determine by motion or resolution, provided,
however, if the office of Tax Assessor should be combined with that of the
City Clerk or any other office the Council may likewise provide the com-
pensation or salary for the combined offices. Further, the Council may
provide the compensation or salary of any person, firm or corporation
employed by the Tax Assessor, with consent of -the Council, for the pur-
pose of assisting in the Assessment of all property within the City.
Section 3. The Marshal (Chief of Police) and Inspector shall
receive such compensation or salary as the Council may determine by
motion or resolution. Nothing herein shall prevent the office of Marshal
and Inspector being separated into two or more offices, and in such event
the Council shall likewise determine the compensation or salary of each
office.
Section 4. The Mayor shall receive compensation or salary for
attending each meeting of the City Council which shall be not less than
Twenty-Five and No/lOa ($25.00) Dollars, provided, however, that the
Mayor shall not receive more than the sum of Fifty and No/lOO ($50.00)
Dollars during anyone calendar month. Regular, Special and Adjourned
Meetings thereof shall be counted as separate meetings.

Section 5. The Members of the City Council shall receive com-
pensation or salary for attending each meeting of said Council which shall

be not less than Twenty-Five and No/lOO ($25.00) Dollars, provided,
however, a Council Member shall not receive more than Fifty and
No/lOO ($50.00) Dollars during one calendar month. Regular, Special
and Adjourned Meeting of the Council shall be counted as separate
meetings.
Section 6. Regular and special Policemen shall receive such
compensation or salary as the Council may determine by motion or
resolution.
Section 7. The City Attorney (City Colicitor) shall receive
such compensation; retainer or salary as the Council may determine
on motion or resolution.
SECTION I I : That the City Council of the City of Clermont finds
it necessary to declare the passage of this Ordinance to be an emergency
measure and, therefore, same shall become effective immediately upon
its passage and approval by the Mayor of the City of Clermont, provided,
however, this Ordinance shall not apply to the compensation or salary of
the Mayor or members of the City Council during the calendar year of
1960.
