AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF
THE CITY OF CLERMONT AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Zoning Commission of the City of Clermont held
a public hearing on November 13, 1961, after due public and published
notice thereof, on the amending of the Zoning Map of the City whereby
the following described real property would be re -zoned from an R-l
Residential to a C -1 Commercial Zone:
All lands lying South of Highland Avenue, North of
State Road 50, East of Scott Street and West of
Bloxam Avenue; and,
Lots 254, 255, 256, 271-273, incl., 294-297, incl.,
and Fractional Lots 255, 270 and 298, Clermont
Heights, lying North of State Road 50,
ALL in the City of Clermont, Florida,
and then filed with the Council of said City their recommendation that said
area be so re-zoned; and,
WHEREAS, after due public and published notice, the said Council
held a public hearing on the recommendations of said Zoning Commission
on December 4, 1961, at 7:30 P. M. and thereafter decided that said property
should be re-zoned and instructed its Laws and Regulations Committee to
draft an Ordinance for adoption, thereby amending the Zoning Map of said
City to effect said recommended amendment to the Zoning Map; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION I: That the Official Zoning Map of the City of Clermont,
Lake County, Florida, as adopted under Ordinance No. 126 and dated

December 7, 1954, and as re-adopted under Ordinance No. 159, dated
December 3, 1957 (an Ordinance amending said Ordinance No. 126) of
the City of Clermont, establishing zones or districts of the respective
parcels of property located therein, be, and the same is hereby amended
as follows:
. (A) The following property now designated to be within an
R -1 Residential Zone be re -zoned and placed within a C -1 Commercial
Zone:
All lands lying South of Highland Avenue, North of
State Road 50, East of Scott Street and West of
Bloxam Avenue; and,
Lots 254, 255, 256, 271-273, incl., 294 -297, incl.,
and Fractional Lots 255, 270 and 298, Clermont
Heights, lying North of State Road 50,
ALL in the City of Clermont, Florida.
SECTION II: The City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida, finds
it necessary to declare the passage of this Ordinance to be an emergency
measure, and, therefore, same shall become effective immediati9ly upon
its passage.
