ORDINANCE NO ~ 7,
AN ORDINANCE Þ~KING A LEVY OF TAXES ON PROPERTY WITHIN
THE CITY OF CLERMONT, PURSUANT TO ORDER OF THE UNITED
STATES DISTRICT COURT; PROVIDING FOR THE PROCEEDS OF SUCH
LEVY TO BE KEPT IN A SEPARATE FUND, AND APPROPRIATING THE
PROCEEDS OF SUCH LEVY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT:
SECTION 1. That in addition to any and all other levies of
Taxes by the City of Clermont for the year 1938, there is
hereby levied a tax of two mills on each dollar of taxable
property within the said City; such levy of two mills shall
be, by the proper officers of the City, extended and collected
with other taxes, but the proceeds of said levy shall be kept
separate from other funds of the City, and when and as col-
lected shall be deposited in a special and separate account.
SECTION 2. This levy is made pursuant to the order of the
United States District Court for the Southern District of
Florida, dated July 29, 1938, in a certain cause in said
Court pending wherein United States of America ex reI Amer-
ican United Life Insurance Company, a Corporation, was
Relator, and City of Clermont, Florida, was Respondent, and
it is the intention of this Ordinance to comply in good fffith
with the terms of the said Order.
SECTION 3. The proceeds of this levy are hereby appropriated,
and shall be påid over by the proper officers, as is directed
in said Order.
SECTION 4. All Ordinances in -conflict herewith are he~eby
repealed so far as such conflict exists, and this Ordinance
shall be effective immediately.
