""1--- AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO WORK AS A COOK, HOUSEMAID, HOUSE- HOLD SERVANT, OR IN ANY PLACE OF BUSINESS WHERE ANY PRODUCT INTENDED FOR HmIAN CON- Sm~PTION IS MANUFACTURED, PROCESSED OR DIS- PENSED, OR TO OPERATE A LAUNDRY, DRY CLEAN- ING ESTABLISHMENT, PRESSING CLUB, OR TO WASH CLOTHES FOR HIRE, OR TO OPERATE ANY PLACE OF BUSINESS WHERE PRODUCTS INTENDED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION ARE MANUFACTURED, PRO- CESSED, DR DISPENSED, WITHOUT FIRST OBTAIN- ING A CERTIFICATE FROM A LICENSED REGISTERED MEDICAL PHYSICIAN CERTIFYING THAT THEY ARE FREE FROM VENEREAL DISEASE OF ANY KIND, OR, IF SUFFERING FROM ANY SUCH DISEASE, THAT THEY ARE UNDER ACTIVE TREATMENT FOR THE SAME. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT: SECTION 1. Words of the masculine gender as used in this Ordinance shall include the feminine gender; the word "person" shall include corporations, firms and/or associa- tions; and words in the singular number shall include the plural number and vice versa. SECTION 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person to work as a cook, housemaid, household servant, or in any .i , place of business where any product which is intended for human consumption is manufactured, processed or dispensed, or to operate a laundry, dry cleaning establishment, press- ing club, or to wash clothes for hire, or to operate any place of business where any product which is intended for human consumption is manufactured, processed or dispensed, at any place within the' corporate limits of the City of Clermont, unless he has first obtained within six months prior tJaereto a certificate from a licensed, registered medical physician that he is free from venereal disease of any kind; or, if suffering from such disease, that he is under active treatment for the same. That it shall be unlawful for any person to employ any person to perform any of the services or occupations mentioned in Section 2 of this Ordinance without requiring such person to exhibit to him such certificate as mentioned in Section 2 above. SECTION 4. That the City shall furnish free to all licensed, registered physicians practicing in the City, forms to be used by them in making the certificates men- tioned in this Ordinance, which said certificates shall be v made in duplicate, and one copy deposited with the City Clerk, and retained by him in an alphabetical file to be kept by him; one copy is to be given the applicant to keep. All certificates shall expire six months after their date. SECTION 5. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than Twenty-five dollars, or by imprisonment for not more than ten days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the Mayor. SECTION 6.
