ORDINANCE NO. 67
AN ORDINANCE. PROVIDING A TAX: LEVY ON PROPERTY
IN THE CITY OF CLERMONT FOR THE YEAR 1944;
PROVIDING A BUDGET OF EXPENSES FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1944-1945 AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS
THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT:
SECTION 1. It is hereby found and deÿermined by the
c~ty Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida,
that the following sums of money are required for the oper-
ation of the government of the City of Clermont for the
Fiscal Year of 1944-1945:
For General Operating Expenses
For Interest

Sinking Fund for Bonded Indebtedness

SECTION 2. It is further found and determined by the
City Council that the total of the Assessment Roll of the
City of Clermont for 1944, as prepared by the City Tax As-
sessor and as equalized, approved and confirmed by the City
Council, is $1466290.00; that the following deductions from
said Assessment Roll must be made in order to arrive at the
value of property subject to taxation for Bond Debt Service:

(b) State owned Lands $ 66475.00
(c) Disability Exemptions $ None
(d) Delinquent Properties $ 81355.00

thereby leaving a total of $13048~0.OO and each Mill thereon

thereby leaving a total of $775654.50, and that each Mill
levied thereon shOUld produce $775.65.
SECTION 3. It is þ.ereby found and determined by the
City Council of the City of Clermont that to raise the above
mentioned sums of money, a tax levy of 25 Mills is required
to be made as follows:
For General Fund
For Interest &: Sinking Fund, and
Reserve For Bonded Indebtedness

SECTION 4. There is hereby levied and shall be col-
lecbed on each dollar of taxable property in the City of
Clermont and in the area excluded from the City of Clermont
by Chapter 21152, Acts of the Legislature, 1941, for Interest
and Sinking Fund, and Reserve for Bonded Indebtedness, a tax of
14 Mills for the year of 1944 and on all property in the City
of Clermont, save and except, that property included in the area as e.
as excluded from the City of Clermont by Chapter 21152, Acts of
the Legislature, 1941. For General operating Expenses and Capital
Reserve, a tax of 11 Mills for the year of 1944, as follows, to wit:

Reserve for Bonded Indebtedness

SECTION 5. The Tax Assessor of the City of Clermont is
hereby directed to extend the Assessment Roll of the City of
CJ,ermont heretofore approved by the City Council in accordance
with the millage provided in Section 4 of this ordinance and to
deliver same to the City Clerk and Tax Collector is hereby di-
rected t.o collect the said taxes at the time and in the manner
provided by law and the general ordinances of the City of
Clermont, Florida.
SECTION 6. The monies raised by this tax levy are

hereby appropriated for the purposes for which levied; and
no monies ra~sed for the Interest and Sinking Fund, and Re-
serve for Bonded Indebtedness, shall be used for any other
purpose than paying, first, the interest on indebtedness of
the City of Clermont falling due during the calendar year of
1945, and, second, for the retirement of the principal of
such indebtedness in such manner as the Council may hereafter
determine.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be effective immediately
upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
